Now that you finished Naruto, I recommend reading My Hero Academia.

@jordanreads Please show this to your husband. Hey man 👋. I heard from your Fiona that you once watched My Hero Academia. Whatever your reason was for giving up on the series I get it and I don't blame you. I just want to tell you that the series did improve and you should give it a second chance. Just wait till you get to the Paranormal liberation war arc and you'll know what I'm talking about. I recommend you watch it with her this time. I promise it will be a good experience.

@@jordanreads the way i put it is a bit harsh but you mentioned something about the role of a main character who's role in the story is not revealed until probably the 3rd book.

I completely agree with your review and I am a big Stephen King fan - pre-Twitter - so the political commentary really annoyed me and felt very out of place. But it could have been forgiven, had the plot and just the writing in general been good. It wasn't. I liked the first half but the second half of the book did absolutely nothing for me and I couldn't relate to any of the characters. I couldn't understand why Stephen King felt the need to make all these comments about white s u p r e m a c i s t s and then include this ridiculous plot point about Charlie suddenly becoming blonde and blue eyed when he wasn't before and people started bowing to him because they thought he was some kind of a prince? As if you can only be a prince if you have blonde hair and blue eyes? What was that all about? And why these royals were meant to be so noble and good but they abused their ugly disabled brother and made fun of him to the point where he chose to become an evil monster and kill most of them and curse the city? I have a lot more gripes but I don’t want to spoil people.

I listened to the audio books and I think they are books better read than listened to. Or, have a copy of the physical to reference often because there is a lot that can be missed, and a lot of names thrown around (mainly in Gideon for the first read). I loved Nona though, because she loves me.
@jordanreadsКүн бұрын
I always recommend people read them physically for their first read through just because there's so much that can be missed, but the audiobooks are also masterpieces, and I have listened to each of them at least once, if not twice. Moira Quirk is incredible.

Phenomenal series. Hobb is the goat. Almost finished Tawny Man and that's shaping up to be my favourite subseries so far. Kennet has to be my new favourite villain of all Fantasy, I understood Regal was moustache twirly partly due to Fitz's limited pov but Kennet was fascinating throughout. Althea and Kennet were my favourite points of view but my favourite character overall was Amber.

Totally right about everything! One of the best collection of books I've read so far. If you haven't already I would recommend the writing of Mark Lawrence, particularly the trilogies that start with Red Sister, and The Girl and the Stars. He started a new trilogy recently with The Book that Wouldn't Burn and it's perhaps the most profound material I've had the joy of reading, I'm anticipating its 2nd installment every bit as much as I am Alecto the Ninth. Thanks for sharing your elation!

I cried my eyes out after finishing this book. Such a beautiful story! I was sad it ended. The writing was so unique and lyrical, while at the same time not being overwhelming. And of course there was Keema and Jun; these two characters have left such a deep mark in me, that days later after reading this book I still feel so much longing for them. I hope author Simon Jimenez can read this review because I really wish he would write a sequel! Also, I just want to add that this story can be enjoyed by anyone who loves a great fantasy novel. The LGBT aspect here is so subtle and really just shows how two beautiful souls are drawn to each other. I say that because I know some people might be intimidated by this. I can now surely say that this is already one of my favorite books of all time.

So about the cavs and where their consciousnesses are. The newest short story, The Unwanted Guest, which is in the Nona paperback, souls that are stuck together will end up fusing together. It’s like mixing playdoh colors. There’s no undoing it. Pyrrha and G1deon did not fuse their souls, somehow. Which is why Pyrrha can live on even though G1deon died. If that same thing happened to Mercymorn or Augustine, their cavs would not rise to the surface like she did. Their souls have fully fused with their cavs souls, so it’s impossible to separate them. Harrow knew this was going to happen to her and Gideon, so she stopped that with her lobotomy. Cam and Pal chose to fuse of their own free will in Nona, because they already felt like they were extensions of each other. In the new short story, we see a bit of how Naberius Tern is starting to bleed over into Ianthe.
@jordanreads Жыл бұрын
This is all very true! No one else had read the short stories so I didn’t want to bring them up and spoil them for anyone.
