What a brutal way to read RoW. I'm very curious how Sanderson doesn't fall into the Marvel/DC trap of a world needing to constantly be connected and the stakes raised to the point where it's impossible to relate to. On the other hand he's taking the cultures and histories and technology/magic in some really interesting directions. I'm excited.

I do think rushing a stormlight book piles on the fatigue cause even though they aren’t dense they take awhile. I remember even taking a month with my first read of Oathbringer I was so exhausted by the end 😅

Back in November 2020 before RoW came out I decided to reread the Stormlight books. I read/listened to all 4 books plus novellas in that month. I rushed through WoK to Oathbringer, but took more time on RoW so I didn't really have a bad experience (with RoW), but I was truly exhausted by the end of it. Never again. 😂

I started the Farseer trilogy because of this channel. I'm almost done with the last book, Assassin's Quest. So long, but worth it, except when I want to slap Fitz 😂 I even bought the first book in the next series in Hobb's Realm of the Elderlings

Question about the Realm of the Elderlings series! I would absolutely love to read and enjoy the series(es) that Robin Hobb has written but I don't consider myself a character-driven reader at all. Do you think there's enough of a plot of someone who doesn't really care about characters to enjoy? It sounds so good but I keep hearing it's so incredibly slow and plotless lol.

ooooh hmm. if you're not really a character-driven reader, then i think you might have a rough time with realm of the elderlings, ESPECIALLY also if you do not like fitz. bc you're in his head for literally the entire time, and it can get a bit much sometimes. the first one (assassin's apprentice) is pretty plotless for like the first 70%, and then it starts moving in the last third. there is a lot more plot in royal assassin, and a lot of things get REALLY exciting imo. but the third book, assassin's quest slows down more again, and is pretty meandering. so honestly... it's hard to say! LOL. i think it's just something you need to try out for yourself to see~ (sorry for the cop-out answer hahaha) BUT if you don't vibe with the series about fitz, the liveship traders trilogy (also part of the realm of the elderlings) still has great characters, but is definitely a lot more plot-driven!

I was debating if I should comment on this video. It's a third your video I'm watching in a row and I've commented on last two. 😅 I haven't read any Brandon Sanderson books yet, but as someone who loves detective stories and thrillers I will let you in on a secret. There are times when authors make a solution to mystery so simple, so idiotic that you react... well the way you did 😃 It's to show that not all crimes are "perfect crime". It's to shock and surprise the reader. And even in reality there are crimes that are that simple. Look from this perspective. Maybe this will ease your mind 😄
