We just learned that we can use place values to represent any number towards the infinitely large, but what about the infinitely small? What about the teeny tiny fractions of one? For that, we need decimal places. It's pretty simple, so check it out!

You don't give school enough credit tbh, if you paid attention in like the first 1-3 years of school when you were little you'd already know all of this stuff. Not to mention you get expert guidance and a teacher whom you can ask questions at any time. There's only so much you can cram into only 90 minutes times a week aswell.

Bloody dots and commas. As an an European, i always have to remember we use commas rather than dots to denote decimal point. Cheers on making this series though!

In America we use commas to seperate the values. I same in the AU. All three of us use comma I think. Some math guys probably think they are too good for commas.

We just learned about place values now we know about the units place tens place hundreds place and so on ad infinitum But what about all the fractions we learned about Going back to the pizza say they are cut into ten slices what if we have one and one teeth pizzas is there a way to repersent that without having to use a improper fraction or mixed number There certainly is all we have to do is extend the place values we know to repersent these Fractions of one as well This is achieved with the decimal point I understand now The decimal point is to talk about exactness in a single number sense big things made of small thing would be counted as 1 but if it was split it would be a point of something 3.5+1.1=4.6✅️ 6.5-2.2 = 4.3✅️ 0.7 + 5.2 = 5.9✅️ 9.7-9.5=0.3✅️
