ESCAPING to a DESERTED ISLAND (in St Barths) | 103 | Beau and Brandy Sailing
It"s always a treat to find a deserted island right here in the Caribbean, to get away from the crowds and seek some solitude! As the charter boats were turning up the dance music, we were raising anchor to continue our journey West. But we want to make one last stop, Ile Fourchue, before getting to St. Martin. Even though there was a lot of roll, it was a quick easy sail from Colombier. We were anchored by lunch time and took the opportunity to whip up a fresh salad thanks to the well stocked grocery store in Gustavia. With full bellies we took to the water. Ile Fourchue is a protected reserve so we were hoping to see more life than what we’ve typically seen in the Caribbean. We weren’t disappointed.

Not as bright and colorful as I remember it from back in the 60's during my Navy days and so few fish. To bad how it is all dying due to the ocean's warming. Love the whale sounds - so haunting. Good job with filming and editing.

Wow, what a beautiful dive site. Great viz, mix of coral and rocks. Was in Maui 4 weeks ago and could hear humpbacks every day when diving. Almost a spiritual experience. There’s just something about whale calls. Great video, thanks. Stay safe.

I know it's tough, with all the countries locking their borders but you've decided to do some exploring in the area you are stuck in...that's a great plan of action in these crazy times. Your dive was awesome and the sea life, inc. the whale song were a good portent of the future but there was a lot of bleaching of the coral heads there. Hopefully they can rebound and adapt to rising ocean temps. btw...homemade kraut and licking the plate clean....you just earned two gold stars, cuz.

I do wish this was easy to answer, but all islands are different with their regulations. All want to know if you have a pet travelling with you, most are just concerned that she has her appropriate vaccinations, few insist on vet visits, and there are a couple that require quarantine (but we will not be travelling to them) I hope that helps a little. Mostly we have to check with each country individually with their regulations.

We are not using filters at the moment. We shoot in neutral and then color correct in post processing.
