I have about half of these decks! The Zombie Tarot is one of my favorite decks; to me, it has more of a cheeky, campy vibe to it than a genuine horror vibe. I connected with it right away, and I've been able to read it well since I've had it. The deck I struggled with was the Z Tarot, which is a LOT darker and more realistic when it comes to portraying the zombie apocalypse. But I decided to work with "spooky" decks this month, and the very first reading I did with the Z Tarot almost made me cry because it told me to stay hopeful (The Star).

What a very cool concept! I’m very interested how this turns out for you, using decks that would be a hard No and repel, to help dig out demons. You have me wondering how I’d go about this myself. I don’t typically like dark decks either-the big headed doll decks and Hush tarot and Deviant Moon completely creep me out…but never say never. I did pick up the Zombie Tarot-had at first been turned off by the box of bullets packaging and thought it would be too kitschy and shallow…but when Lisa Papez recently used it in a video, I caved…and as soon as I started looking through the cards, I fell in love. I think it’s hilarious. I might end up using it year round. …You have me curious about the Hush Tarot especially, would love to see a deep dive when you’ve worked with it more. Ooooh is the last deck the Somnia Tarot? It's the ookiest deck I've ever seen and I'm so excited or my copy to come too! I love the Hush Tarot, and the Lucy Cavendish decks have been on my list or a while but I always get turned away by the art. I should probably learn to look past that because the keywords seem really good. I think you've also discovered the magic of a depth year, as it's purpose is to dig deep into yourself and uncover and work on those hidden things that are wreaking havoc in our daily lives. This was fascinating Candy!! I love how you dove in head first into that dark pool. It takes guts to face those hiding things in our mind/heart. Go on. you've got this. DY is all about slowing down and making conscious decisions and that is what you are doing. Dream wisdom is some of the deepest. Glad you went for it. This is so amazing, Candy!! I went through something very similar these last couple of weeks! I have always been very wary of Thoth because when I was very young, my dad told me all kinds of stuff about aleister crowley (and witchcraft/the occult in general) and it really scaree me. I got into tarot a few years ago, and was always intrigued by Thoth, but held back due to my fear from childhood of Crowley. Then two weeks ago i thought i should give it a shot and traded with someone for a copy of Thoth and I am so glad I did!! It arrived today, and I can already tell that i will get a lot from working with it. Lovely video, thank you for all you share!

Loved your video! Shadowland is one of my favorites. What I did was buy some fine grain sanding paper and remove the gilding and then I edged her in black. I have found over time that the card stock is softening somewhat-- I don't know what would have happened had I left those unfortunate gilded edges on her!

Like you when I opened the hush tarot there was some kind of excitement yes the images are strange but somehow appealing and the deck is very tactile, I love it. The dark mirror again has some very strange images but the readings you get from it are amazing, loved the video candy. 😊💓🤗

I sincerely hope your last deck is the Deviant Moon, I absolutely love that deck! One of my all time favorites for sure! Dark decks are my esthetic, so I love all these decks! There are several I don't have but they are on my wish list. I have so many of Patrick Valenza's decks, Trionfi Della Luna and the Mildred Payne Oracles are great to, he has the secret pocket Oracle and the Oracle of Black Enchantment. Murder of Crows tarot is another one and the Santa Muerte Tarot is also a great one.

This us so helpful! I too am working in the shadows and wanting to find a good tarot deck. I saw a lot if these, and not all but some triggered me. Still pulling money together so I may have to end up doing a VR to your Chanel if that's ok, becauseI will have a haul of at least 2-3 tarot and one oracle and a few others For ne I am triggered when I see the Haunted Tarot sold as a used deck that is haunted. Mostly because of the disrespect towards spirits and ghosts I was also looking at the black tarot, Dark Mirrors, Shadowland, and some horrer tarot. All triggered me but intrigued me as great decks.The Halloween tarot I find triggering because the fool is a flown Thank you gor sharing no no no no kittens in dark decks lol Its understandable. I find the zombie deck humorous- my family is not what it appears to be & this is how i see the zombie tarot deck, its been helpful with healing for myself. I bought the Zombie Tarot for the exact same reason...for years I was: "no, definitely not for me, not interested!"...but lately I realized that the aversion is a message by itself, to begin with, but also looking at the cards I could pick up shadows that have not been as obvious in my other decks. The Shadowland Tarot and Las Vampires are decks that I've come to really love. (Their guidebooks are awesome as well!) Is it the Tarot of the Vampyres you are waiting on? (I've lost count of what you already have, lol, but I don't think you would have bought that in the past.) I'm looking forward to a video on how you work with these decks ...I'm at the point where I am trying to overcome some past-issues myself too, so that could be helpful! Thanks for sharing! Holly it’s proving to be stunning. Also it’s doing a thing …. Cards flying out when I’m originally shuffling which I always check and put back in. But then when the overhand shuffling starts waiting for jumpers the same cards that dropped when riffle shuffling are coming out again! I will get the Dark Grimoire for sure, I really like the artwork. :) I hated the gold gilding on the Shadowland too so I removed it and edged the deck black which is a huge difference. I didn't trim it because back then I was afraid I'd mess it up, instead I used the slower more tedious way and filed the gilding away.

This is so intriguing! I literally have no idea what the last deck will be, but I can't wait to find out! I've had some different experiences with darker decks. I find the Zombie tarot really quite disgusting and quite hard to look at but on the other hand hilarious in a scandalous, gossipy way to work with as long as I pair it with something sweeter to take the edge off. I wanted to love the Hush Tarot but had to find it a new home as i just couldn't make sense of it. I read quite intuitively and it was "dead" as far as my intuition was concerned.. My favourite dark decks are Madam Lydia Wilhelmina's Tarot of Monsters the Macabre and Autumn Scenes and Mildred Payne's oracle of black enchantment. My absolute no no decks are The Deviant Moon Tarot (I just can't stand the art, not the subject matter but the art style itself and I'm not prepared to compromise on aesthetics!) and the Nicoletta Ciccoli decks because I find the art somehow bare and empty? I'm not sure how best to express it! Hollow? I'm pretty sure after Tash's video and yours that I will get Les Vampyres very soon! In all seriousness, Candy, good on you for being willing to work with the decks and artwork that trigger things within you and face them with such courage and compassion. I admire you for that so much. I LOVE the Shadowland Tarot SO MUCH!!! (I have to riffle then overhand, too! As a side note, most of Schiffer's decks are sharp like that. It's unfortunate.) 6 of Wands is absolutely appropriate for this video -- you've created a victory for yourself over your own demons from trauma. Prayer hands and a bow to you, friend. Not only that, but I learned about decks I wasn't familiar with! I LOVE dark decks and realized, for example, that I'd never really looked at the Hush Tarot. It's beautiful! And seriously DARK! I also liked the first three decks, all of which I'd heard of but not paid much attention to because the art style wasn't my "thing".(eye roll!) I often find I have to overcome my aesthetic prejudices to really "see" a deck and understand what it may have to offer me. Finally, congratulations, too, for knowing where your limits lie with confronting all of this. The Zombie Tarot is a step too far for me, too. I have never tried to own or work with it because I find it crass and too glorifying of violence and gore. I'm all for a horror film that's psychological or spooky or just dark, but I draw the line at genres that are dehumanizing and pit "them" versus "us" in a manner in which I call "death porn". Squid Games, the new Korean series that everyone is talking about for example, is one that I wish I'd waited on before watching because it's pure death porn. Had I known when we clicked on it the day it was released, I would never have clicked. Once we were in it, I wanted to find out if the plot would redeem itself somehow. It didn't. Which is what I'd expected, and it's lazy and irresponsible film- making, story-telling, and art-making, I think. Anyway, thanks for indulging an early morning rant and venture into your tarot journey! Tons and tons of love to you, Candy! You are such a fantastic human being. xxxxx

I love the Hush tarot so much, it's almost like a soul deck for me. The artwork is stunning and I do not find it creepy or dark in any way. I know my two sisters will find it guite disturbing because of their trypophobia, but to me the artwork is so peaceful, beautiful and reminds me of a dreamlike state of mind. The Shadowland Tarot is adorable and supercute, I've been working with it this month. I do remember that I thought the Mary-El tarot was very creepy when I first saw it (I have a strange fear of seeing people or things touching eyes, so I hated the card with the snake crawling into the big eye), but I decided that because of that I needed that deck, and now I no longer have any problems with it. Lately I have been feeling drawn to the Guardian Tarot even though I earlier found it strange, creepy, and not for me at all.

I love the kitschy-ness of the Zombie Tarot, it's so cartoony I don't even notice the "gore", zero creepy factor in that one for me. Lol. I love the art of Shadowland, and the book......HATE the card stock and sharp guilding. No fun to shuffle that one at all. I'm HOPING they did not make the lenormand deck with the same stock and guilding because I do want that too.

I've never bought a deck twice just for upgrades but if they re-released that one with no guilding and different card stock I would because like you I love the deck. If you do sand it will you post a short video of the finished product and talk about the process? Orsi sanded it off all hers and re-edged it in black as well. Looked way better. 🧡🍁🦉

It’s the first Oracle deck I haven’t been wanting to read the guidebook to see what it’s supposed to mean and am just able to let the imagery tell me what it needs too. I think I’m going to explore some deck pairings on my channel with the healing cards and the Pholarchos. I’m trimming and edging it; just arrived yesterday.

I so much enjoyed this video! I'm like you, I don't like horror movies and I'm not really drawn to the darkness. However, I like to have a few darker decks in my collection for when I do get in that mood, or if I have a specific purpose I'd like to use them for. I have some of these on my wishlist, such as the dark mirror. One question...I've been so disappointed to discover the new blue angel cardstock, because the cards are so thick I can hardly work with them. Is the Les vampire oracle also that thick, matte cardstock now? I thought it might be only Alana Fairchild decks, and I was hoping it wasn't the JBG decks as well...

I think my darkest deck might be Madhouse Tarot 🤔 I don't know anything about your collection but my guess for the final deck is either Dark Wood Tarot or maybe Carnival at the end of the world?

@@CandySoulAndSoil sadly I can believe it. I ordered a deck from the UK that was sent Oct 16, arrived in New York Oct 20 and has been sitting there ever since with no further movement 😒

Some nice decks there Candy, I do like the Hush Tarot one 😊.....Have you heard of the Amado 777 deck, it's two decks, an A & B, I bought it but cannot connect with it and it wasn't cheap, it's even more expensive now than when I bought it last year, I've only opened the A deck and knew right away I wasn't going to be able to work with it, as you know I'm still trying to learn tarot but this is a deck for people who already know how to work with it, really nice deck, just cannot work with it, so I wondered if you have it or have heard of it? I need to try and sell it, if you know of anyone who might be interested, can you ket me know, I will sell it for less than I paid for it, I tried to swap it but had no interest, couldn't believe it as it's so expensive! 😏......Anyway, i do love some of the decks you bought...hugs hunni 🥰

I am feeling quite similar i found myself ordering the deviant moon a deck that has always creeped me out along with mildred payne's secret oracle. My best friend died in March and then my sons best friend died a month ago and i feel like and I am consciously looking at things differently and drawn to things that i just wasn't to before. Isn't that also the point of a depth year , to go deeper ? I am wondering if your last deck Is the deviant moon ?

Lovely Decks and am drooling the Les Vampyre Oracle with the new card stock!!! I have it with the old card stock wich I'm fine with, one of my favorites! The Shadowland Tarot, my husband got it for me for my birthday in 2020 with a beautiful Bridgette Statue 💜 Lovely Decks and I hope you enjoy them!!

Thank you so muchZ I hadn’t realised the card stock on Les vampyre had changed. It’s really soft snd buttery super wonderful to work with. My other Lucy cavendish decks are glossy so I’m assuming the older card stock but I still find it really lovely to work with 🖤😊
