Decking a Guy | The People's Court

The defendant hired the plaintiff's company to power wash and stain a deck. However, the defendant has been stiffing him, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff didn't finish the job and lied to her.

Honestly tho I do believe him over her. He has no reason to lie because he would have preferred to finish the job and bill her after doing all the work. I think she got sticker shock.

I would always state in my contracts that if there is additional work requested the original invoice must be paid in full before the additional work even starts. The reason is that the additional work if needed to be done before the original would delay the job thus delaying the payments on the original.
