DECLUTTER + CLEAN WITH ME :: Massive Bedroom Reset Part 1

Hello everybody,
This week, I was working on the 2nd week of the August Decluttering Calendar from Home Storage Solutions 101.
Worked on my lil guy's clothes and organized our travel bags and backpacks. Whew, it was a loooooong week.

You're doing great. If this were my home, I empty out the family closet and have that as your little boys room. I know you said your home is small but it's really not. I'm in England our homes are tiny without land (unless you are rich) 😁

Your idea of having a basket for each person will work. After the clothes are emptied, wipe out the basket with a sanitizing cloth or spray with Lysol. It eliminates the need to sort. Also, don't underestimate your "little guy's" ability to put dirty clothes in a basket. You may need help with laundry and other areas of your home. Take care, Linda 🦋

You could get a storage bag that vacuum put items you keep in it like summer items jus a suggestion..I'm new to your channel and I'm from North Carolina

GIRL. Our school district started back AUGUST 1 - not the 10th, THE FIRST☀😰. SO glad I’m not teaching this year! I need to get on my bag collection but boy am I dreading it. I feel your second-guessing struggle. Even when inflation isn’t going crazy, its ALWAYS so hard to get rid of things that are still useful! (also, love seeing the knitting - you’re making me want to get back into it!)❤❤❤

There should be a rule that schools can't start until the last week of September. The rainy day usually outnumber the sunny days by then. Ooh...what kinds of things to you knit? Do you have a favourite?

@@jenndubmac I agree! And I'm still pretty much a beginner, so mostly square/rectangle things like scarves and blankets lol 🤣 At my peak I managed a ribbed hat on circular needles but I am rusty now!

Idea: since your ideal is having each person use a small basket for their laundry but don’t want to put clean clothes where dirty ones just were, have you thought about using a laundry bag as a liner? You could just wash it with the load so you never have to worry about getting the baskets dirty!

For laundry - a basket for each person. When it comes out of dryer fold and take to their bed so they put away.

I like Dana K. White's "head explosion" rule -- it seems like the backpack fits into this category. If it's causing too much headache skip it :) (I think she may say it needs to go, but I'd say skip it + decide another day :) Your finite resources of time + decision power can be used on other things that are currently easier to decide about. Good luck! :D + great job making more space in the closet! p.s. I'm knitting little animals for the school basar while I watch :) p.p.s. I'd recommend the music volume level be lower so that it's about the same volume as your narration.

Thanks for the hanger suggestion. Oh, these are just his nicer fits. He has plenty of clothes, most are just folded in his half of the dresser.

Whether you keep the items or not you have already spent the money. Do you need a physical reminder of the money you spent by keeping items you can no longer use? Remember always go back to why you are doing this. Fb marketplace is the worst, people are such time wasters, they never fully read the ad, and they all want something for nothing.

Craigslist takes a lot of time and effort and people flaking out is so annoying.. Unless it's worth at least 100.00 I don't even bother. I know how you feel when you have something that you spent good money on and it's not getting used or didn't get returned in time. I think that doing this declutter will help you notice more how you've spent in the past that might not have been as great as you wished it had been. and then more thought will go into future purchases. Sometimes I get where I'm spending too much and I put myself on a spending ban. But I'm way better the majority of the time.
