I can't wait for your new book. Your "Drowning in Clutter?" book is the first book that actually made sense to me and was on my level of clutter. Other books about clutter have photos of a "beginning stage" which look closer to my "goal stage", which made me feel even worse lol.

Love this video, I have a kid closet I’m working on day 2, I did 20 mins each day because of time. Yes, I start with trash, and Donate box a large one, and box to sort later. There’s now way in going up and down the stairs to put things away .

Dana refers to the keep box as a procrastination box. It all depends on your style and energy level whether using one will work for you. If you identify as a slob, having a keep box that doesn't get put away just contributes to the clutter and detracts from the visual progress that keeps us motivated to continue. A happy medium might be to make a trip up or down the stairs once you've accumulated what your arms can hold. You can also base your method on what your priorities are. If you're pressed for time, it might be more efficient to make fewer trips. If you have the time and have been meaning to get more exercise, putting items away one at a time could be a real workout!
