Thank you so much for this video, it definitely inspired me to declutter an area of my home:).💛

why not use old cutlery set as the entertainment set? why use plastic?
@AshlynneEaton2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question! If we were just going to be entertaining 10-15 people, I totally would! but we pretty often have +30 over at our house and so even with the old cutlery set and the new one we wouldn’t have nearly enough to go around 😅
@xSonea2 жыл бұрын
so why don't you buy some more cutlery at a thrift store. They don't have to match, and it would be a lot more sustainable!

Ashlynne, I LOVE your videos! They always calm and motivate me at the same time. 🤗🙏🏻. It is also nice to watch content from a fellow believer. Always look forward to your videos each week. ❤️

I am keeping my storage containers with lids on! It makes them much easier to handle if you have the space

Thanks for sharing! I did dishes and took note of my “problem areas” in the kitchen while watching. I’m motivated now to take care of them!

I just decluttered the kitchen and my bedroom closet. Whew, so much small clutter built up in there. It feels really good to have a fresh start in high traffic / utility spaces!

Ashlynne!! I love how you tea cabinet came out. I know it isn't a video you would normally do but I would love to know what your favorite teas are.

Why not keep the old utensils for guests instead of using the disposable ones???🥲
@mysticfox15632 жыл бұрын
Because minimalism on the internet is performance art at some point. Even if she has a lot of guests keeping the extra set would reduce the amount of disposables needed, but it doesn’t make as good of a video aesthetically.

ALL of this!
@sarahelizabeth88952 жыл бұрын
Because that makes sense 🥲 but apparently minimalism ≠ low waste
@andreadriver65322 жыл бұрын
Or sometimes when you have just a few people over using your actual silverware and doing dishes is fine, but there comes a point when it’s just easier to go disposable. 🤷♀️ I try to be minimal, AND low waste, but there is a balance- you gotta find what works personally- every situation is different! 😉
@BlondeQtie2 жыл бұрын
i don’t understand the need for disposable cutlery. i just borrow some from my neighbors if i invite too many people. but that only happened once in the 15 years that i lived without my parents lol.

May I suggest storing the larger food storage containers with their lids in one acrylic container and the two smaller sizes with their lids in the other one? My favourite in my kitchen has actually been storing the containers with lids on, but keeping the lids with their matching containers is almost the same. It really does save time and mental energy. 😊

I'm trying to start a no-buy/low-buy 3 months till the end of the year-I'm not sure if you would have any thoughts on that for a video! I'm currently searching for ways to not be swayed by impulse buying when I'm stressed or anxious, being swayed by Social media and email marketing,etc. im trying to limit my exposure but it's so hard to escape! Would be a topic I'd love to hear your thoughts on

Ok so looking back I see you made a video on this 2 months ago, lol But Maybe there is more to say? Not sure

Do a social media break, I have been doing this for months and I don't miss it at all. You have more time for real life projects and decluttering and as a bonus, you see who your real friends are, those that contact you when they see you are not on social media.

Part of your problem might be your 'fantasy self' which we all have. Check out 'Nourishing Minimalism'. The host, Rachel, has done a couple of excellent videos on the subject. Good luck.

Just a idea - your old towels will make rags for outdoor cleaning which can be thrown out once used
@fs8412 жыл бұрын
Hi Ashlynne! What do you do with the dish towels you declutter? Do you place them in the garbage?
@rachelgustafson12072 жыл бұрын
Great job! I want to do my kitchen too and refill spices. It’s always a good idea to run new silverware in the dishwasher or wash by hand. I’m sure you did that. 😉

I used to have an old ugly black shredder that I donated many yrs ago. I never cared to invest in a quality shredder until the pandemic. This has been a game changer. I found a mostly white HP shredder that micro cuts. No more piles of "Shred". I take care of it IMMEDIATELY 😊
