Same with my partner!! 😬 His ASD really affects his ability to let go of things ("if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality). But lately, he's realized that it's been getting in the way of using the stuff he *actively* wants. It's been a verrryyy slow journey, but... It's really great to see ANY progress! I'm not a *huge* neat freak, but it's been hard to be so patient! It'll be worth it, though. 💜

As a Lady of a Certain Age who has just had to start really considering skin care and makeup thanks to aging/skin changes/side effects of minor life-saving medication, it’s been super intimidating and overwhelming trying to figure out where to start. Hi Jen, you know like you mentioned quite a few products that you wanted to use up (either because they were almost gone or because they were samples), well instead of putting them back in your drawers, why don't you keep them out in a box or something on your desk. That way they see in sight, and in mind and more likely to get used?

These have been super cathartic just watching you do this makes me feel better about my own collection. I did declutter right at Christmas time and took a huge haul up to my family. We all have similar skin tones and undertones, so it was really fun for everyone. One of my sisters has Birchbox and my niece has Ipsy so when they saw full sized products they got super excited. Also, *sees favorite CC cream through entire portion of video* Jen- eh, it's okay... well, dang. Lol.

Congrats on your decluttering! I know that you and other influencers that have been decluttering are getting a lot of flack about these huge collections only slightly whittled down, keeping more than a lifetime's worth of product, but I think that even a small step in the direction you're trying to go in is a victory! I think people would complain if you threw it all away too. I wonder if you would put a sticker or something on each of your products that you kept, and if you still haven't made progress by the end of the year, you toss it, without exception because you'd know either you can't or won't or didn't use. And then at least you're starting fresh next year, knowing that you have the power to control what you want to control and enjoy what you want to enjoy. I did this with my wardrobe 2 years ago, knowing I had too much, and I'm so glad I did. Anything I didn't wear in 2018 got pitched in 2019 and everything I kept, I know for sure I love.

I LOVE that essence setting powder but I went through it so fast and as soon as the center hit pan the rest would shatter and make an absolute mess. It became too much of a mess. I actually used the It Cosmetics pore filling powder but now ironically used loose setting powder

I appreciate you doing this series, it made me actually go through my collection and reevaluate my spending habits and what I want to keep and what to give away/sell/trash. I threw away 30 lipsticks which hurt so bad, and have about 20 that are use within the year and then toss.

I think it is great that you go through the declutter process even if you can't be cutthroat every time. My only reminder is that it takes FOREVER to go through eye primer - a full size can last a year even with daily use. You might consider looking again at the eye primers you kept with that lens, so you don't feel guilty about throwing them away in the next declutter. But if you want to keep what's yours, that's your choice!

Jen if you want to keep something then keep it. Don’t feel bad. I understand you don’t want to contribute to the waste problem, but you already have that stuff and if you enjoy it, and use it, than don’t worry. Now if in 6 months you have bought more and are still not using any of it, re-evaluate your items and pass more along. I just would hate for anyone to give stuff away they actual like and will miss because if anything that might trigger a repurchase that could have been avoided. Also, girl that white rug is in a very dangerous situation! . Like yes, it’s pretty, and at least this video isn’t as heart stoping and breath holding as the eyeshadow de clutter, but I am genuinely so nervous for that rug it gives me anxiety haha.

I like the Garnier matte finish one, I just apply it with my fingers when Im in a hurry and smack some powder on and it lasts pretty well! If you prime and use a setting spray, it lasts like a normally foundation but a more natural finish
