Emily, I had the same problem with True Match. Great color but cakey. I fixed it however by adding a drop of Argan or sweet almond oil.

I've been using it for years, but I honestly can't stand it. I have yet to find a drugstore foundation that works for me so I've been dealing with True Match until I do.

+chloe arnwine I actually ended up trying about six Drugstore foundations in order t,find an improvement. I actually liked Yaybelline Fit me ( dewy), Covergirl/Olay and Rimmel better than True Match by itself. Even Maybelline Dream Velvet can be an improvement but I do,find myself switching around. The use of primer really enhances most foundations for me in general. And I do find myself mixing foundations frequently now to obtain the right texture or coverage. Not convinced yet that I should return to high end products just yet.

I recently fell in love with Mac face and body when I read Sharon Farrel's application technique-rub it in your hands and feel it change consistency for more coverage. Plus I'm mixing it with fuller coverage matte foundations to keep the dewy finish. Amazing!!

I have that exact Garnier BB Cream and I can't believe how dark it is! Instead of throwing it away, I mix it with my sunscreen and apply it to my arms and legs for a tinted sunscreen. ^_^

love this video and all of you other recent foundation reviews. even though i have oily skin, your descriptions are so helpful. i realize from watching these that i'm actually at least one shade lighter than you-it can be so hard to find the right match and the right formula! maybelline's matte & poreless in 110 is almost perfection but i'd like just a little bit more coverage sometimes. XOXOXO just to tell you two BB creams for very fair skin that i love for summer: jane iredale glow time full coverage bb cream (a little goes a long way) and physician's formula organic wear CC cream in LIGHT (not light/medium) are both working nicely. XO!

Hi Em! I would suggest trying Bourjois Healthy Mix Radiance Foundation. Slightly more matte and more coverage (maybe try swatching in store hehe) but the whole HM Foundation line is a lot more neutral compared to HMS :) x

I LOOOOVE the Lumi Cushion, and I'm C3 as well. The first one I bought actually disappointed me because it ran out SO FAST. I think it was a dud that just didn't come with as much product in it, because all the youtubers I saw talking about it would say, "Wow, you don't need to press hard into this to get a lot of product onto the sponge!" and from the first use I had a difficult time getting enough onto my blender. The second one I bought is PERFECT and seems to have a lot more product in it. I haven't tried the regular Lumi foundation without the cushion - is it the same formula as the cushion, just in a bottle? I may try that if this second cushion still runs out faster than I'd like...

you should try the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless! im super dry but i use it everyday and i just have to make sure im really moisturized beforehand or use a more aluminizing primer. it's such a nice foundation

I almost want to go through my screen and grab your Bourgois serum. That's the exact shade I want to get when I go to Hongkong in July. I tried the foundation version and I love it too. How about adding a drop of oil to the true match or mixing true match and Lumi?

Nyx has foundation mixers that will help you change the undertone but not the foundations performance or longevity. Try that before you get rid of ones you love. Alex

I have the Loreal true match and I have the same opinion. the color is perfect to me but it's too thick. the thing is, I added a bit of argan oil to it and now I'm using it. Maybe you should try any oil or essence that works for you, mix it, try it and see if it works.

I was going to suggest the same--mixing a small amount of the foundation with a tiny drop of some kind of oil. I learned this from a Wayne Goss video and tried it with coconut oil with good results.

Have you tried the Lumi N 1-2? That's what I use and it's a very good match. I think we have very similar skin tone (that's why I love your lip swatches so much... b/c it's basically how those colors may look on me).

I agree totally with the L'Oreal true match - beautiful colour match but cakey, almost sticky finish. L'Oreal pro matte in their lightest shade (I think it's 110) is a great option though for fair skin! One of my faves.

I so agree with the True match foundation! I don't like it at all and i don't understand why it's so populair. It is very dry and to cakey on my skin also. (I'm Dutch, so if i make language mistakes you know why). ;-)

I used my True Match with sponges and it looked horrible but now I use it with Real Techniques buffing brush and it looks amazing.And since it gives dewy finish don't powder it just use setting spray.Hope this will help.

Ooh, the Lioele BB has an SPF 30 version. I'm assuming you haven't tried it. If you do try it, let us know if it's as good as the non SPF one!

I did! The formulas are different - the triple the solution is lighter, it's a bit thicker and even though it's not bad on my skin I can see it working on combo skin better! Overall I much prefer the Beyond the solution :)

about the bourjois one, did you know that now nyx sells colour-correcting foundations for,well foundations(or whatever that's called) ? It could solve your problem : they have a white one, a pink one, a yellow one, a dark one, ect and basically if the undertone or the colour of your foundation doesn't work for you, you can mix it with one of those and bam, it matches
