I'm trying this right now. Thank you sooooo much for doing this video, I've totally forgotten the code for my lock so this video is exactly what I need. I'm sorry but I also have to add..to the people who are leaving negative comments, nothing is stopping you from just scrolling on. Life is so much easier & takes mo effort at all being a positive person unlike negative people who must pick & put down people whose only intention is to help others. I thank you once again.!!

To be sure- it isnt when your shim tool starts to feel like its sticking - but rather when it lifts up then back down as you said? Just clarifying what kind of feedback im looking for
@freename Жыл бұрын
Yes, movement of the shim dropping or raising a tiny bit rather than something sticking or being difficult to turn. Though different ages of locks or wear may mean other methods like feeling for difficulty moving it may actually work too.

@freename there's also manufacturing defects too consider I've noticed after trying several. I've managed to unlock 2 of these using the tooless method a previous commenter had described and it actually went pretty well, however I've got to a third and I'm struggling a bit and will probably have to resort to the tool method which I was not good at all with while I was practising. And I was even using a mechanics "feeler gauge" which is a lot more precise than a painters knife as it allows you to select different thicknesses in very fine increments. 0.02 of a mm between different feelers. I'd highly recommend anyone who's reading this to get their hands on some if they can it will make their cracking life a lot easier. You wouldn't happened to know how to disassemble these would you? Or what they look like cross-sectionally. This is the only lock picking video on the whole of KZbin I managed to find with this particular lock and I even struggled to find much if any information on google. Its very unique not to mention secure for a vertical combo.
@freename Жыл бұрын
@Bipolarvideos sorry. No further information. And the lock eventually became a victim of water ingress and rust, it stopped working well. I threw it away but maybe I should have tried to disassemble it, too late now !

i did your way without the flat tools but by just just pressing the bottom and feel it click ,the rest was your way the rotation bit so Cheers Thanks Works it Help

Really good to hear, this video doesn't get many comments (other than people telling me I'm irresponsible for posting the method). Glad it worked for you and was possible without the flat metal tool. I'll have to see if I can unlock mine without any tools. I'm pretty sure I've tried that but will re-test when I get time.

i can't seem to get my lock open, the gap in-between the wheels is very small. what tool would you recommend for me?
@freename4 жыл бұрын
Chop up a drinks can? (but beware of the sharp edges!). You need really thin metal. The tool I used is 0.3mm thick.

Glad you managed to decode your lock. I tried your tool feeler method with no results and after a bit of research I realised why. You mentioned at the start of the video you're basing your method on what you'd seen on other wheel combination locks like the key holder ones. These types of locks are actually different in that they don't have external gates where a latching pin drops into to open it. If you thing about it, the body is machined out of solid brass and there's no mechanism insert. The gates are actually internal facing inside to the push pin. Have a look at this video for an example of how it's constructed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJ7afZmHmdx7h7ssi=ogK6Br4Lqu7Xp-eY So what were you actually feeling? Well the lock I have is the same, but the tolerances are much tighter. I can only get a soda can thickness of material in between the wheel and housing. When I probed around, I got no difference or feel all the way around each wheel. What I think is different is that your lock has more play so you were able to push/tilt the number sleeve over slightly to the point where you could feel the external lug which engages the wheel. The wheel you couldn't feel most likely had a tighter tolerance like all of mine so you couldn't feel where the lug was. Luckily for you it seems, Masterlock have placed the gate to lug position the same on every wheel. If it were different for even one of them, you wouldn't have been able to open the lock. Anyhow, not meaning to troll someone else's hard work. Just wanted to clarify a few things in case people had the same issues I had. I also tried the push pin and shackle pull decode by feel method. Problem is the shackle has an independent mechanism that doesn't bind the wheels like other lock and because of this, pushing the pin in gives you very little feel as it's also pushing up against the opening mechanism. Fortunately, there's an easy solution. It's exploiting the pull to reset vulnerability. Find an old fork. Bend the two outer prongs out of the way. Use the inner two prongs to put lever tension on the pin as though you were resetting the code. Decode by feel/click like one would normally. Helps to put a little oil on the shaft to see the movements. Don't lever too much or it'll bind too hard. I found each wheel has two false gates. Real gate has the largest movement outwards. Good luck!

I purchased this lock as the previous one can be easily broken for access. It came highly recommended as it can’t be snapped or broken. Now I need to take this padlock back as you have given every thief the information they need to open the lock. This video is a service for the dishonest. Please do the right thing and take this video down!

Only when BosnianBill and LockPickingLawyer also end their youtube channels. Security by obscurity is a poor policy. Get something secure by design and ask better of the companies producing these locks.

@@ronniewood6423 I refer you back to security by obscurity being a bad policy. Buy something better. Do not let massive companies sell insecure locks. Me not making a video does not make them made any better. Them making a better lock will fix the problem and also make it so there isn't interesting content for me to film.

@@ronniewood6423 Yeah wow holy shit what a horrible opinion. Imagine thinking that youtubers are making it easier to break open locks. It's the manufacturer's job to create more secure locks and the consumer's job to do their research for the right application. Any moron will take bolt cutters and destroy the shackle if they are determined enough. In a similar sense this lock is overkill for an arts and crafts supply cabinet. Consumers will vote with their wallet after seeing this and manufacturers will make their locks more secure after seeing this. You owe them a debt of gratitude, lest Masterlock simply reproduce the same lock and theives just share the secret between themselves and rob you blind for decades.
