I started watching Lockpinglawyer at some point last year and I got inspired to get a lockpick-set and a bunch of padlocks to play with. Then I thought "wait.. I use a padlock on the door housing my car tires and stuff in storage next to my parked car". So I try my (by now) ok skills at picking to test how easy it was to defeat and I got in after only 5 seconds, several times in a row. So I replaced that lock with the one lock in my ever-growing padlock-collection that I can't pick no matter what I do. Now I feel my stuff are more secure. That's one use for this kind of hobby.

I was curious about learning how to pick locks after watching LPL, and ended up finding out that one of our home door locks was surprisingly easy to get through. My dad shared a saying with me then, and I think it's an important one to keep in mind: "Locks only keep honest people out." There's really no lock that can keep 100% of people out 100% of the time. Anyone who puts their mind to it can generally get through any commercially available lock.
@Jacksparrow49862 жыл бұрын
There are locks that you can open in under a minute with an hour of training and there are locks where even very skilled pickers need a minute in a controlled ergonomic setting. When you use the latter, bicycle thieves ressort to anglegrinders.

3rd technique on one of the locks you need a key to make a custom code so pick that lock than change the combination. It seems simple to pick if you look at the key it only has one notch so easy lock picking

You can pick combination locks with picks sometimes, the one that was on the bikes is one that can be opened faster with a pick than with the combination.

@@youssefbenyahia9448 for instance the lock on the bike is know for having a dumb exploit if you stick a shim in between the third dial and its right wall and pust to the left is itll open the reason for this is because theres no wall between the dials and the actual pin holding the bar so you can push it to the left and unlock it
