Agreed, think Southgate goes with his strongest squad here. Maybe a bit harsh to say Watkins hasn’t performed for England? 3 goals in 268 mins is pretty good - averaging more than a goal every 90 mins he’s played.

Just don't feel like he has shown his best. Goals are great but looking at the quality of opposition he has played against and how much he was actually involved in the game I would say he has shown a lot more for Villa. I agree though he does need more minutes to show what he can do.

Butland has to go, he's playing well week in week out, including in Europe also. England continue to lose out on not at least giving James Tavernier a try out. Most goal contributions of any defender in the world in the past 6/7 seasons. Was Rangers main player in their run to the Europa League Final, finishing the tournament top scorer plus is a free kick and penalty expert. All skills the England team could use. 21 Goals and 10 Assists this season so far...
