Not sure why this channel doesn't have higher ratings. I love Dimitra's recipes and presentation.

Awesome. Actually very similar to my German/Hungarian family Stuffed Cabbage recipe, which I have made deconstructed many times. Only differences are that I cooked the rice in with the rest of the ingredients (because it traditionally goes in our cabbage rolls) and the lemon juice was a big surprise! I will try adding lemon the next time I make it because I love lemon.

Perfect timing! ❤ Just bought a cabbage and was wondering what to make… Thanks for the great recipe! ✅

Wow. I learned this dish from my Nana when I was young. I had no clue it was based on a Greek recipe. It’s one of those comfort nostalgic foods for me. I am definitely going to try the lemon finish next time. We serve it on sautéed corn tortillas. Super delicious!!!

This is yummy! I did have to improvise though. The cabbage was just awful at the stores so I got 2 packages of cabbage slaw mix. Worked just fine. Carrots already in the mix and the little bit of red cabbage added some color. This is a really good meal. Served with rice. Thank you!

I added a little cream and it was great as my tomato puree was quite strong flavoured, and yes a teeny bit of sugar! Fingers crossed my family enjoy it! Love your recipes!

Stuffed cabbage was my favorite meal growing up and my Greek mom would make it every time I came home from university for end-of-semester or summer breaks --- all 4 years. 😊 I will try this deconstructed version. 😋

Dimitra, a pro tip for cutting the acidity of canned tomatoes: a pinch or two of baking soda. It totally mellows out the acidity.

@@DimitrasDishes Yes.. when its available until the homemade fermented cabbage batches are gone lol.. but my mom makes your version too with regular cabbage and mixes the rice in there.. just delicious and so nice to see how similar our Eastern European dishes are.. I'm Montenegrin.. we're very similar to Greece and Turkey in regards to food and many traditions/culture. One of my best friends is Greek for over 10 years. Always love seeing your recipes and thank you for sharing them!

Love making these! They're truly lazy cabbage rolls - when the craving is strong, but the will isn't 🙃 Some people shape them into patties before cooking, to imitate the look of effort I guess, but there's no shame in eating them fully deconstructed, otherwise where is the laziness?
@DimitrasDishes2 жыл бұрын
I've never seen them shaped as patties. Hope you enjoy this recipe!
