@JFFM730 oh ok, I hear you. I think the latest Abbey Road liner notes are what threw everybody off. Prior to that, all the sources said that George played bass, organ, and all the guitars, McCartney on piano, etc. That's the one I tend to believe, especially since the bass riff is identical to George's demo.

John and Paul were on a roll.... their weakness was not recognising or indeed purposely ignoring the emerging talent that was beside them. This is a long..long...long. story... going back to their childhood days when age and rank was superior....this unfortunately they carried into their formative years and blinded ( some would say quite rightly so but wrongly ) the fellow genius that sat beside them. I've always been amazed that there weren't many collaborations between them, John/Paul / George.....but John once said it was a John /Paul... Paul/John agreement on the writing front and George was initially ignored and pushed into the background. But it just shows what an immense talent was boiling away underneath and the meeting of the Four members was somewhat of a symposium...... Times have greatly changed but somewhere.. somehow... many years from now there will be a meeting of like-minded individuals who will possibly... maybe... equal these masters of music... let's hope so and keep hope alive..👍👍👍👍

@@joneses39While George definitely liked playing slide (and was great at it), he's clearly playing without one here. In that killer riff, he's playing double-stops on the G and B strings, which reverses a full tone on the B string.
