John was such a unique, inventive rhythm guitarist. The variety of licks and riffs he came up with is so impressive.

Jazz musicians are real muscicians. Ditto clasical musicians. The Beatles were like Gilbert and Sullivan. Sullivan was not accepted into the serious musician club. But the Beatls were entertainers who made millions happy! Much more important than being great muscians. They also helped pay off the WW2 debts. So the Queen gave them an award. Hype is fun, but remember how shallow it is. When the Beatle lost control of Northern Songs, they split after signing the new contract. When Allen Klien no longer controlled the Beatles, Paul made a hit record called Band on th Run. Your frolicking in music heaven is fun, but I like to talk about how the Beatles are more exciting than hemorrhoids. I am a huge fan!!@@It__From__Bit

Indeed, as were the rest of the lot: So creative, so inventive, so magnificently ground-breaking. I have a hunch many classical musicians who just play what others have written would gladly give a decade's earnings to be able to create like those lads (plus George Martin) did. It's so rare to be able to invent at that level. The variety of sounds and styles they were able to envision and bring to fruition was absolutely mind-boggling. Things like the effects of the tape loops in Tomorrow Never Knows is simply stunning. And the list goes on. Plus their ability to create lyrically is so spectacular, as well. Such a rare and talented bunch.

This single maybe be my favorite single, hard competition against with Strawberry Fields Forever & Penny Lane.

The rhythm track in this song is possibly the Beatles' best ever. Ringo was very proud of his drumming for this song -- justifiably so -- and Paul's bass playing for this song's simple 3-chord progression is masterful.

Paul playing guitar on Rain has been a bit of a discussed topic for a little while but the recent Revolver release and photo's from the session do show Macca on his truty Casino. George can be seen with his SG at the session but that was for the overdubs on Paperback Writer and not Rain

No guitar from George???!
@HJsCorn909
@HJsCorn909 Жыл бұрын
Nope. George didn't play on Rain. It was Macca who provided the secondary guitar (at least according to the recent Revolver release)

@@HJsCorn909 I always suspected it might have been Paul, due to the unusual tuning of the guitar. Does that put George on tambourine then?
