I truly enjoy hearing about your grandparents. I celebrated my birthday with my grandpa every year from when I was child until he passed away when I was 28 years old. Our birthdays were just 2 days apart so we had a combined party every year. I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything.

Synchronicity is a beautiful thing. Beginning your birthday (and your grandma) month with Sacha"s concert and ending with your grandpa's birthday. It warms my heart. I love this month's videos and would love to see them next year. I have lots of conversations with my loved ones who have passed. I have been enjoying your February series, I enjoy your others as well. I usually do craft along when I watch your videos. I am glad that for this series you have less pressure on yourself as you are crafting and not giving a tutorial. Today I watched most of this cideo while washing dishes as my dishwasher died last night after starting to wash them. After I went for a swim and came back to watch the rest with a coffee. That is special that you have such a bond with your grandparents and that there have been so many "coincidences" regarding them. I think that they are signs that they are still with you and looking after you. Take care.

When I start a journal, I always have a theme that I have experienced in life. For instance when I visited my daughter in NC, who lived in the Smoky Mountains in a farm house there was always something to explore & always there was an adventure! So it was easy for me to make this journal. As I put the pages together the ideas just poured out of me. Sometimes I would decorate some of the pages before sewing them in & other ideas were added after I sewed the pages in. So there you have it, phew! Now my daughter lives in Virginia Beach, VA & have had some huge adventures!

I really love these craft along videos. Love watching you and listening to you as you decide what will work and what will not in your journal. Even though it is not a tutorial I always pick up some good info. I love hearing about your life and loved ones. It is so wonderful to have a craft buddy and it does really feel like we are working together. Since this is easier for you without all the editing I say continue on as long as it makes you happy! My birthday is March 3. I am so honored to share my birth date with your Grandfather. ♥♥ I will try to tune into Sascha's live that day to say hi! I can see the advantages and have tried a few times to decorate pages before binding them in.. Just can't do it. I get them out of order and make myself crazy. So I bind and then decorate. I do try to do any sewing on the pages first and then if I want stitching later I hand sew or sew on the decorated piece and then glue it in.

As you were talking about Valentine’s Day, my daughter went into labor on Valentine’s Day but my grandson wasn’t born till the 16th and it has a special kind of weird memory to it but the grandparents have a special connected with my grandmother. Also it’s lovely to hear and sending you hugs and a happy birthday again.❤🎉🥳

My Grandma made glue books of recipes and crochet patterns. As for decorating, I've done it both ways, but I lean toward decorating first, because when I do it after, I end up taking them apart and redoing them. I love your birthday month videos. And I really like to watch you make.

Awesome video. It is always fun to watch you decorate in your journal, but I loved hearing about you and Sasha ( ?spelling) and your Grandparents. I haven't quite figured out whether I like decorating pages, then sewing in or sewing in, then decorating. I do know I need much better organization with my supplies. My husband and I have been traveling, so I've been doing way more watching than creating. We are on the last week of (what I call) " our winter adventure," so I am very ready to be home and back with my supplies. Now I can rewatch some of the videos, try new techniques and craft along! My husbands Mother told him to get creative on Valentines Day. No flowers… chocolates are ok because I love Chocolate. Lol. But she told him he should get me flowers because it was a Tuesday or any normal day of the week and he thought of me and smiled. She also told him if he had the opportunity to send the flowers to my work, that’s extra points. Because my coworkers saw him send me flowers just because. And they didn’t need to be expensive. Sometimes he’d buy me 1 flower and come through the drive in (I worked at a bank) and have the drive up teller give it to me. So much fun.

Hi Luise, we can’t hear your heat tool it is very quiet. I had 3 great aunts that were very crafty lady’s and I learned so much from them. My mom also did a lot of things but did more painting in oils and acrylics. My dad was also an artist. I love flower arranging, journaling, miniature hats, sewing, and a ton of other things. I also had a grandpa I really loved him was wonderful. My dad’s mom told me when I was younger when I was around 5 or 6th grade she would hunt me when she was dead and gone😢. Never forgot that. Had a bad bad dream about that. Nothing like having someone you love climb out of their casket and come after you. You are a special lady to have picked a name including your grandparents, shows you really loved them a lot. I have really enjoyed your videos so much this month. I love when you play and then show us new stuff. I loved science and biology in school and when I watch you it’s like I’m sitting in class. (When’s the test🤭😂oh and you asked how I or we put our journals together it varies, sometimes I make ephemera first like I did for Edith Holden then put my journal together. Then there are times I’ve decorated the pages before sewing them in. But I’ll tell you my greatest joy is using the hammer on my pages😂🤣😆your such an influencer😉🤭😂😆 Love and hugs

I have now started to decorate the edges with stitch, but then the pages get sewn in, and then I decorate the pages. I don't care if the journal has a wide mouth. I like lots of ephemera.

Listening to you speak again about your grandparents it reminds me as the grandmother of 5 and the great grandmother of 11 that I need to always remember that grand parents have a great responsibility as we have such an influence over our grandchildren, sometimes more so than parents. I am relatively new to your channel and only about 4 years playing with paper instead of yarn. I like your channel because even though we are different in our grunge or lack thereof tendencies, what you talk about works with both of our ideas of nice looking projects. I am in love with most of your techniques, almost love like between two humans. Your projects are like something I want to take into myself and build my life around the making of beautiful things. My things are still only for give away 'cause I have tremors and really bad eyesight so nearly everything I do is crooked or even horribly kitty-wampus. Anyway, I guess I picked this journal project to comment to 'cause if I had already made a journal of similar colors and design, I would have continued on kinda like you are except I'd find one page where I'd choose a muted or rusty orange, or muddy red and decorate that one page with those kinds of colors. That's the way I see life. It kinda ho-hums day after day with not much different since hubby (hubby not hubby/32 year partner) died 6 years ago. But then every once in a while, you make a video that gives rise to thoughts outside ho-hum where I want to put living color into that day so that it stands as a testament to the fact that although everything can be so boring you feel like to yank your hair out by the roots, if you are patient you can find life or a glimps of how life used to be and you want to actually live instead of just existing. Your channel or more specifically you bring to me more of the living color spots. I hope that you keep on bring living color. I don't mean to sound greedy and always take from you and give nothing back. I will find a way besides your printable page purchases, but right now that is all I have to give back to you a small thing compared to the huge inspiration to live in color that you've given me. Thank you!!

I like to decorate first and then sow them in so i know how many room i have to stitch the journals in. I mayby sometimes over do the decorating and have to take some pages out as i creat the signatures, but i always make the signatures fitting to the journal otherwise i may have to cut up my decoration 🫣 While watching your video I was preparing stuff to make my own KZbin video session for recording i have planned for monday. Normalerweise binde ich meine Jounals zuerst. Es ist klar für mich. Ich höre es so gut, wenn Sie Ihnen von Ihren Großeltern erzählen. Sie spüren die Liebe zu ihnen. Ich hatte mich am 3. März erinnert und wollte mich sowieso Sasha ansehen. Gute Idee👍🧡 Während des Videos minke ich eine Decke. Im Moment habe ich Schwierigkeiten, in meinem Tagebuch im Zusammenhang mit gesundheitlichen Problemen zu arbeiten.

My first few journals I made I put the journals together and then decorated them. Now I decorate them first as in if I am sewing lace on pages , and then I put together, I then decorate it though still some have ended up to be a bit of a gator mouth as I have so much fun decorating the pages. all is a learning process ,I have just started making journals last year so It is a learning process . I really like the neutral colors you're using! It's so nice spending crafting time with you! I was working on a soft padded journal cover which went way wrong...I almost threw it into the garbage but then hearing your voice I thought NO Luise wouldn't give up she'd find a way to fix it. So I kept at it. I usually decorate the inside pages after they are in my journal. I love making the covers most I think!! I find myself struggling on how to decorate the pages inside which frustrates me. ha It so special that you share the same birthday as your Grandma. These dates are happening for a special reason!! So meaningful. Grandparents hold us so close to them always I believe. Their love for us is a kind of love you don't get from anyone else in our lives. And it's memories that will forever be with us, Thank you for such a wonderful time spent with you today!

Okay last comment for this video (I think). I have always decorated my journals after the naked pages are inserted and sewn in. I don't know if I could do it the other way because I feel like the pockets and stuff would make it harder to sew the pages in.

I had a nice time with you this afternoon. You worked on your project and I was creating paper collage for diets cutting. The time flew by, glancing over once in a while and listening to you talk about your wonderful grandparents. My Hungarian immigrant grandmother was the best ever.
