Why does this sound like a song Japanese army would use?
@garrysucks4190 Жыл бұрын
Because it's got the vibe of a traditional folk song. It's about returning home.

"故郷に錦を飾るべし" means something like "must come home in triumph" rather than "decorate your hometown"

I think the translator knew, but I believe it sounds cooler this way, or at least better in Asian way. Coming back home with wealth, honor and glory, decorating your run-down gloomy hometown with all these flashy brocades that shows you how much works you've done to get these.

@@SirHellNaja My Japanese isn't that great, but according to my translator "錦を飾る" can either be "to return home loaded with honors" or "to put on fine clothing"; the decorating part seems to refer to the person themselves rather than the hometown. However, I'm not completely sure.

@@Christolero I'm not that good at Japanese, but from what I know, the word "Nishiki" is usually referred to a tapestry that is hung on the wall or a banner, like the Nishiki no Mihata. Besides, the word Kazaru means 'To decorate' as in decorating your house.

@@SirHellNaja Nishiki is used to refer to that dix of a brotha who betrayed his father and his brother.
