Hard-core ita baggers would argue that pin bags are not ita bags since it wouldn't be about one central character. I definitely fell out of ita bagging as a hobby because I was so tired of seeing people being attacked for referring to pin bags as ita bags. It's a common mistake but there's no need to be mean and gatekeep-y. Anyway, the CCF bag looks great! Very cute!

Ita bags are actually considered trendy and popular among Vietnamese teens now i think like there are a lot of people out on the street carrying see through bags that'll display different decorative things but they'd have that more futeristic and simple/minimalist style

Yes, I have seen people who have those bags from stores that sell them idk if they are fake or something, but some people have them and don’t know what they actually are and do not display things. Instead put random things inside as a pocket

Bit off on the definition there, itabags refer to bags that have a specific theme to them due to them being portable shrines for your favorite character or whatever (also things like OTPs, food and animals have been made into itabags) Fandombags or conbags are clear bag windows that don’t have a theme, and are usually made up of badges or pins that someone bought at the local con in one go (hence conbag) It’s sister bag would be pin bags which I notice usually focus less on the merch and more on the bag shape itself while in the case of itabags it’s purely the merch and the actual bag is usually a more normal shape :> So basically the bag with the rillakumas would be an itabag but the bag with the pins would be a pinbag or conbag. Hopefully that cleared things up, i would recommend checking out the FAQ on it for more info.

@Gabe Weber There is actually, as I mentioned itabags are generally things with a theme and are basically used as portable shrines while pin bags, con bags, and just bags to display random merch do not have a cohesive theme and aren't itabags :) It would be the same as someone claiming otome and lolita are the same because they're both feminine Japanese fashions.

@Gabe Weber Clearly you're someone who doesn't participate in the hobby, because they're very much so different things. Ita in the itabag sense refers to painful as in painful on the wallet and painful to look at because of all the merch of the character, there's nothing painful in both ways for a normal con bag since generally they're just stuff that's been picked up at the con and not as much effort has gone into collecting merch. No shame in that of course but they're very clearly different things. Itabags are portable shrines, while bags like the one in the video are not.

I use enamel pins a lot for my ita bags. I've made pieces of craft foam with fabric over them to make inserts for the bags. It makes it a lot easier to change pins out and avoids damaging the fabric inside the window.

I have an ita bag. It's a black heart bag with various gothic type enamel pins. I recently got into lolita so I plan to wear the bag with coords. It wasnt my idea but instead of pinning the pins to to fabric pocket I used a piece of cardboard with pretty paper on it and pinned the pins to that. Also get rubber stoppers I find the metal ones move alot. This bag and coords were adorable thank you for another lovely video!

Suggestion for displaying pins: use an art canvas. You can hang it up and decorate it and have different sizes or themes. I do it for pins and stickers.

I totally understand being intimidated by ita displays, I also keep changing my mind about what bag I want to commit which items to lmao. This one looks adorable, totally perfect for complementing a coord! Also, in regards to what to do with enamel pins, I would suggest pinboards, pin hoops, magnetic displays, shadowboxes, and of course, the evergreen denim jacket or vest! I've seen some incredible displays of massive pin collections that become a collage art piece by the time the owner is done!

As for your pin collection, what about a basic corkboard or foam board on your wall? You could paint it or wrap it in contact paper! I was thinking about doing this myself, because aside from the Ita bag I made for my Disney pins, I still have an overflow of them and they live on a vest on the back of my door, for now.

I don't use my ita bag for everyday wear, but i have a backpack that i use when I go to Disneyland to display all my collectible disney pins! I even added battery fairy lights to it too to make it extra magical 😊 i used to do the lanyard thing but it got so heavy and itchy on my neck and ruined my outfits 😭 but with an ita bag i can show off my 10+ year collection of pins in a cute and usable way! I highly recommend it! 👍

I always assumed they were called ita bags because they prevented pain. They have a separate pocket to stick the pins through, so you don't scratch your hand on the backs of the pins! As well as keeping you from having to poke a bunch of holes in your bag in order to display your pins. So, the bag gets hurt and not you XD not sure where I got that idea from, but it's cool to know the real reason!!

Another definition for ItaBags is also the pain for the bag itself as it is constantly being stabbed with pins and weighed down, this is similar to itasha cars which usually have modifications like stickers on a car- usually reserved to one fandom or specific character but I’ve seen them with different characters for each panel of car too
