Nothing is as punk as punk rockers bringing back disco. Awesome.
@eltoro9693 жыл бұрын
Back in the late 70s no one hated disco more than punks. So it`s not punk at all to bring back this. It`s just nostalgia. Dave is my age (52) and we grew up loving disco and were too young to understand the hate against it. Our generation (who were 10+ in 1980) embraced most new genres that followed. Synth rock. Pop. Post punk. New Wave. Heavy Metal. Ska. Hip Hop.. etc. So this has nothing to do with being punk, but a lot to do with nostalgia.
@WessStewart3 жыл бұрын

I'm a man of Rock first and foremost... Grew up with Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin et al... then in the 80s it grew to include G n' R, Metallica, Megadeth and many more... But when you listen to that stuff for 8-10 hours a day you had to give your ears a break at some time... Disco was my "break" music and the BGs were #1... I never cared if anyone knew I enjoyed their music either... the BGs wrote and performed GREAT music at a time when auto-tune wasn't even invented. Their harmonies are legendary. I wasn't much of a Foo fan before but I gotta give credit where it's due.. It takes a gutsy band to cover the BGs and do it with such style.. I tip my hat to the Foo and say Thank You.

I came out of rhe DC/HC scene in the m8d to late 80s, it was my home, my community. Good times, actually GREAT TIMES. BEFORE THAT, way back in time, the 2nd album I bought as a kid with my babysitter $ was The Bee Gees Greatest hits, white cover one. And yes, in 1978, at 8 years old I saw the movie, you know, that one. That was the 2nd album that I bought. Here's the kick. I was born in 1970, so the Beatles were done just as I started. The BeeGe3s turned me on to the Beatles as a kidlet. I can't express how home ground proud I am of Grohl, nor how much I love the Beatles, and no where near how7ch I love the BeeGees. They are such a big part of the soundtrack of my life. Just, this is cool, really bad ass cool.
