Another fun fact is that the Forbidden Woods is actually the Kokiri Forest, a Korok mentions it before you go into the dungeon while you can actually see some of the houses like Saria's house in the dungeon.

Made me so happy seeing Twitch chat making "DUDE, WHERE'S MY CAR" jokes. Me and my siblings said the EXACT same thing when first playing it on the Game Cube together. Oh fun fact!!!!! A speedrunner found a really cool strategy like many years later. Apparently if you get Forest Spring Water (water by the Deku Tree) and pour it on the boss of the Forbidden Woods, it's an insta-kill. But there's a time limit so you have to beat the dungeon fast lol

I use that method all the time whenever I decide to do another WW playthrough, and it really helps. I wait to get the water until I unlock the room before the boss door. A bit time consuming, but I think it's worth it. Since the water only has 20 minutes of use.

One very useful tip for this game that I learned all too late is that, whenever you feel stuck try to get a look at Link's face. More often than not you can catch him staring at something important.

Mekar Island in BOTW named after/ inspire by Makar WW. One dead tree on Mekar Island and if you climb it, wind will blow directly to the west. A subtle but nice tribute to the Wind Waker and Makar Korok

Breath of the Wild took a lot of concepts from the Windwaker and also from Zelda 1. I would highly encourage you to play the first one at some point. it's kinda frustrating and archaic nowadays but its also just soo god damn rewarding if you can beat it without looking stuff up or consulting the chat. It's really the definition of exploration.

After OoT and MM they wanted an evolution of that look into the new generation of graphics(basically what we got with TP later). I'm not a big fan of style of this game. It looks a bit too childish for my taste, but it aged way better than the N64 games and works just as well today as when it first came out. I would say it's even better today than it was back then.

Just look at how gracefully it has aged in comparison to the other games you named - it still looks fresh and just as charming by today's standards. I really love the art style, it feels so vibrant and alive! And I'm glad that BotW allowed itself to be inspired by that, too. With its cell shading and art style, BotW is another game that will stay objectively beautiful much longer than those games with a more realistic approach.

But at the time when it came out, this look made me almost not want to play it, because it looked like it was made for 6 year olds and I was already in my 20's. It's still a good game, but I really had to jump over my own shadow to accept the childrens cartoon look back in the day. Maybe I would've liked it better if it had an anime look instead of a western cartoon one.

The Boomerang is super fun in Wind Waker, I used to run up to Moblins and Bokoblins and just spam it on them as fast as I could At point blank range it starts to look like Link's just bludgeoning them with it without even throwing it

I will always write this: Deebee, you can spin attack without having to hold down B. Just do a spin of the L-stick and then press B. It's not as strong but much faster.

fun fact: the wind waker HD only took 6 months to develop, all the in game models are the exact same as the gamecube version. the updates were to the MIDI instruments, lighting, gameplay tweaks(wii u gamepad things), and something that EVERYONE can appreciate but not spoiling that since this is his first playthrough

I REALLY hope once Dee is finished with Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, Hyrule Warriors 1 & BOTW2 that he goes back to play some of the 2d Zelda Games. Specifically, A Link to the Past, A Link Between Worlds, Phantom Hourglass, Minish Cap, Zelda 1, Zelda 2 AND (finish playing) Links Awakening Remake.

Wow, I have not heard that "Makar" joke before, what's wrong with me?! The music in the Forest Haven is soooo chill. I argue that WW has some of the best Zelda music after OoT. 2:30 OMG that edit with Beedle's voice had me dying. Also, Makar is the cutest little thing in the world and must be treasured and protected forever!

Why? All that not only has been on the internet for a while now but a second playthrough lets you read all that naturally as you play the game. It's too bad it's not an option from the start so Dee could off played it like that instead though I'm sure he will look those up after he finishes the game.

Yayyy Makar, I love Makar so much he's so adorable. I wish I had his plushie I saw once ;-; Also just a little tip that I noticed a lot of people miss (I mean I only found that out when I was like done with almost half of the game xD), if you hold ZR while on the boat with the sail lowered you can cruise. With that you can move the boat slowly and without wind. It helps when you want to get closer to islands without crashing into them or adjusting your boat to use the crane to get treasure. Oh and you can use ZR to put down anything you grabbed. That aside I'm loving seeing this game again but prettier, I completed only the GameCube version and never really looked into footage of the HD remaster so this is really wonderful so far x3. I'm loving seeing your impressions of it, I already can't wait to see your reaction to some of the later parts, keep sailing matey ;D

I know this is probably intentional but it just occurred to me and I think it's neat. The two bosses he's faced so far reflect the deku tree and jabu jabu bosses in OoT, and he's gone to "Death Mountain" (which is now home of the Rito, formerly the Zora) and the Deku Tree.

A funny fact is that you can defeat the forest boss in one hit, if you remember the water around the Haven-deku tree have purification effects, so if you take the water as fast as you can and drop it at the boss in his first fall, it will die instantly. Old Zelda games really made more than one way to defeat bosses, is really impressive that this methods were discover years after the release of most of the games.

Yes, I won't spoil story stuff directl to you as people tried to do, so I'll say two things: #1 The King of Red Lions aka Larry can basically jump when you use the button that you used for cruising but when you are sailing in the direction The Wind blows. 2. You can do something in Outset Island for next stream. Basically you noticed that Link's grandma it's sick, if you have something that can replenish her health that be quite useful.

If you use water from the forest spring on the boss, then you can purify it and kill it without fighting. The water has a time limit though, so use the warp pots to get to the end quickly

One of the greatest aspects of Wind Waker is how it calls back to previous games and builds on the lore of the overall franchise. Wait till you get to the end of the game. Then you'll really be reminded of OoT.

The reason why koroks are in BOTW and look exactly like the ones from wind waker HD was because they’re the same models (they were working on both this game and BOTW at the same Time, so they reused the korok models to save time)

Fun Fact: You can actually beat Kalle Demos instantly by using Forest Water when the flower opens up. This is the second game to do this since Nightmare in Link’s Awakening with the Boomerang.

Okay, I know it was a coincidence, but when you used your leaf to blow air at the first door of the Forbidden Woods, I felt a blast of air from my fan hit my face at the exact same moment. Talk about an immersive experience lol
