As someone who's almost old enough to be Technoblade's dad, and though I've never been a huge fan of his content, I'll happily admit my deep respect for who he was. When Technoblade set his mind to a goal, he would grind it out until he was on top of it all.

To respond to some of your questions: - the minions are particular to the server he played skyblock on, called hypixel (it's on the info board on the right) and truth be told, I'm not a fan of that server, because I prefer vanilla minecraft myself, but I do get why other people like playing there - you don't need a second pc to run a second account. you can open a second instance of minecraft with a separate account. Minecraft largely runs on a single cpu core, so if your pc happens to be a multi-core monster with enough RAM, you can run as much minecraft instances as you have cpu cores if you want.

I also wanna mention something that kinda gets buried sometimes because of Techno's "image" but basically everybody who ever interacted with him behind the scenes has talked about what a kind and sweet person he was, even though his whole shtick was "bullying" people. There are so many stories of him secretly helping people out or just being really supportive and when someone would try to reveal it he would try to turn it into a joke and deflect or just deny everything. I remember one time he was chatting on his alt stream (on his second channel Technothepig) with one of his stream mods (Hanna) and joking about how he couldn't let people find out that he's a good person because it would ruin his reputation Actually that reminds me, there's this old video where he was playing with Hanna and another KZbinr and he was just mercilessly bullying Hanna for being bad at the game, but then the other guy jumped in on it and started making sexist jokes and Techno immediately told him to stop and the other guy was like you were making fun of her too and Techno was like yeah because she's bad at video games not because she's a _woman._ Like sure sometimes I think his dark humour was kinda dipping into questionable territory, especially back when he was a teenager, but at the same time he _clearly_ was conscious about not going too far. Even back in the gamergate era when that stuff was rampant in the gaming community... After he passed, Hanna also talked about the time when he helped her get started streaming. She was apparently really anxious about it so he made a list about all her anxieties so he could "prove her wrong" afterwards when they all turned out to be fine. There are a lot of stories like that, Michaelmcchill talked several times about how great Techno was to him and other smaller streamers on SMP Earth, Niki Nihachu and SophieTexas talked about how sweet and considerate he was all the time in private, how he would always respond ASAP to their messages and how unlike a lot of the other guys he wouldn't talk over them in VC and would listen to them, Wilbur would repeatedly randomly mention how kind Techno had been to him recently whenever he got the chance, the amazing animator SAD-ist posted a whole thing about how Techno had been quietly supporting them and sending them his audio files to help them create their animations with better audio... Eret didn't say it was specifically Techno but I remember they also talked on Tumblr about how it was nice to finally have people listening to their stream ideas and respecting them _right before_ they streamed with Techno... I mean sure it's nothing special, a lot of people are kind and decent (although a lot of times he also was the one person who stepped up to help when other people didn't), but the sheer contrast between his reputation and the truth is just funny and kind of heartwarming.

I don't know if I have a favourite memory of Techno, but i keep returning to his vod of the minecraft monday where he first met Philza. It's such a blast and such a lovely beginning to an incredible friendship. Phil ended up being one of the two people who met up with techno irl before he passed away. And i love their dynamic so much. I actually rewatched just a few days ago. I think my favourite actual favourite memory might be the charityy stream he did for the sarcoma foundation, right after he came out publicly that had been diagnosed with cancer. That whole stream was absolutely hilarious, involved a lot of his close friends and ended up raising 350k dollars in about 4 hours. I still miss him a lot

As someone who was an avid watcher of Techno and viewer in his streams for almost 3 years, Techno was like an unstoppable force of nature, both mentally and in-game. There was nothing that man couldn't do when he put his mind to it. I recommend watching his Bedwars, MCC or Minecraft Monday videos, he was and still is an absolute god at PvP and in his prime was one of if not the most feared player to go against. I am glad you still get to see it, even tough he is sadly no longer here. Edit: You asked for our favorite memories.For me it is difficult to narrow it down. His videos always calmed me, made me smile and forget the troubles around me. Sometimes he would tell seemingly random stories or talk about history or his major in college, english. His dark humor was so enjoyable and he seemed really genuine. There's more, but those are some of the reasons I watch his videos.

Pretty much everything you didn't already know about in this was mods. There are some amazing mods in Minecraft that completely change the game, or deepen it to such a degree that the redstone doors you saw in one of your streams look like duplo blocks. Not legos, duplos, the giant legos made for toddlers. No choking hazards. Mods have choking hazards! Also would love to see more Techno reactions. The potato war trilogy is magnificent, each better than the last! Some of his best PVP moments would also be wonderful; the guy really knew the game, truly living up to the slogan. I'm so glad you were finally introduced to Techno. He was such a great and sweet guy who kept making us laugh every time he made a video or streamed. As you've said he's incredibly funny but I must also mention how supportive he actually was of his friends and fellow content creators that he played with. Everyone who ever made content with him have talked about him being a nice person who was very considerate of others. I learned about him from Minecraft Mondays which was an event where players competed in pairs in various mini-games. What caught my attention was that even when paired with new minecraft players who were supposed to "nerf" him he would provide his partners with positive feedback and encouragement throughout the event. Somehow he just had a very nice dynamic with anyone he played with (the carson situation was a complicated one, it was practically "bit gone wrong", so I'm not counting it). One of my favorite moments with Techno was "The Red Festival" thing. When he killed everyone with tricolor fireworks named [SUBSCRIBE TO TECHNOBLADE] which instantly turned the chat into a Technoblade advertisement. It was so funny and it was exactly that got me into the Dream SMP which I also enjoyed very much. He has so many iconic quotes starting from "Officer, I drop-kicked that child in self-defense!" to "What does the Vitamin B stand for?" - "BROKE". The funniest guy to ever exist. Not exactly the favorite moment but it's related to the Potato War. One time Wilbur (Techno's friend) was talking about Techno beating squid-kid to the potato leaderboard, how he spent 5 months farming potatoes and as Wilbur came back to the voice chat with Technoblade, Techno says to another person "I wouldn't say I'm a competitive person!". That was so funny. This moment not really favorite, but it really got to me. It was when Techno released the video about him getting cancer. It was so shocking to watch but the way he was just joking about it and full of optimism... Idk it was weird, hard to process but also funny? because his jokes were good, it was perplexing that's for sure... I can never describe these feelings. If I ever was in his position I don't think I would be able to take it the way he did let alone make actually hilarious jokes in the process. It felt so unreal. I wish he didn't have to go. But I just hope that he at least was satisfied with his life and what he had accomplished. He will be dearly missed. I'm sorry for a longpost but this video got me into feeling things. Technoblade never dies.

Something that doesn't have spoilers for minecraft that I think you might enjoy are Sad-ist's animations. She animated major parts of storylines from a minecraft server that both Dream and Techno were a big part of, and when I say they're incredible animations, I truly mean it. Beyond just her extraordinary talent with animation, her audio editing is phenomenal. She takes audio bits from livestreams from the creators and matches them with beats in the music she uses. Very good watches. There is also one, maybe to ease you into her content, that is an animation of Dream and Techno's duel, though you might want to watch the MrBeast video that was the inspiration for it first :)

@blockgamepirate3481
@blockgamepirate3481 Жыл бұрын
Nah, I think that's the wrong way to look at it: Techno ended up raising over a million dollars for cancer research (and counting! He's still raising money posthumously!) and THAT is the real fight. I think someone looked up the numbers and the Sarcoma Foundation was apparently able to fund like twice as many research projects last year than in previous years, probably at least in part thanks to Techno. On Dream SMP he called himself Protesilaus after the hero who was the first into battle and the first Greek to die in the Trojan war, but remember that the Greeks won that war in the end. It wasn't a tie, his team won even though he didn't live to see it. And as for Techno, it wasn't a tie because the fight isn't over. And it isn't over until sarcoma is cured. And once it is cured (I hope) we can declare it a victory for Techno.

After he passed, us parents who knew something of the gaming world gave a heads up to our less video-game aware friends that their kids might be devasted. A few parents got news of Techno's passing before their kids did and were better able to support their children in their grief. I feel like this was the first experience of real death for many young viewers and as a parent it's been wonderful seeing how gently content creators, some deep in their own grief, have been addressing the topic.

One day, I got a ping from a discord server for a fanfic author I admire who wrote a lot of Philza and Technoblade stuff that I spend a lot of time in - will have been there for two years this April 16th. There's a lot of people there who like the duo not just as dsmp characters but also as content creators. I like the group and we've gotten to know each other. . . decently well, as far as knowing people on the internet goes. The message was from the author. It had a link to a youtube video that had been spoilered, and they had added a trigger warning for death and a note to be safe. When I revealed the spoiler, saw the video name and the channel and their note - without even clicking on the video, I pieced it together and my heart sank. I desperately hoped I was wrong, but I wasn't. The gen chat was busy for at least an hour or two, with all of us grieving and being there for each other as best we could through messages and emojis (and for some, actually being with other members irl). There was one person in particular who would post reminders to take breaks, drink, take your meds, eat, etc, every so often during that first day and then at least once a day for about a month afterwards. (Thank you, if you read this) We're about two months away from his birthday, and only a few weeks longer from that for the day the "so long nerds" video was uploaded. It still hurts to think about him. Techno never dies ❤

i won’t pretend to have known him personally, but as a long time subscriber and enjoyer of his content, i feel like his deadpan, almost meta sense of humour would rather people remained lighthearted in regards to his memory and the content he left behind. he literally made jokes about his own death, i feel like he’d want to be remembered and talked about the way he was before he died; in reverence, not because he’s no longer here, but because of how insanely dedicated to block game he was to the point of borderline concern. the way he dominated any minecraft competition he joined to the point where he’d win whole tournaments even after being nerfed. the way he’d grind obsessively in his need to commit to the bit, the potato war being my favourite series showcasing that. his content has always been so impressive and fun to rewatch on its own, not only because of how genuinely good he was at the game but because he as a person always felt so effortlessly funny and genuine. i’ll miss seeing his content pop up on my feed so much, but there’s a gold mine to look back on and im glad that people that may not have even known he existed before are giving his content a genuine chance without letting the fact that he’s dead be the only thing they talk about, because i personally think dying is the least interesting thing he ever did

I had never even heard of Technoblade until his passing was announced on other KZbin channels. But still, 23 years old... At the time I'm writing this, I'm 23 years old myself. My mom's almost 50, she's been around more than twice as long as I have. That's a potential minimum of 27 years that cancer took away from that man. If he was as great as I hear he was, he deserves to hang with legends like Elvis and Stan Lee. I'd love to go watch some of his videos to see what he was like, but my emotions get very extreme and I'm struggling to see what I'm typing right now, so I'd be too busy bawling my eyes out to watch more than a few moments. Heck, I don't even think I can watch this video all the way through, I'd be crying too much to give him the respect he deserves.

He was more on the competitive side of Minecraft content creators than I would watch regularly, but I knew him from MCC (which, yes, is a competition, but quite a bit less sweaty than other competitions, which made the builders that I watch want to join up and play) and I'd poke my head in on what he was doing from time to time. Every time it made me smile. The man was one of a kind. Nobody was, or ever will be, like him when it comes to the sheer presence he had, combined with that dry, dry wit.

It's hard to pick one memory, one video, one stream, one clip, one cameo on another's channel, one moment, one time that was my favorite. I'd say it's impossible even. For a time, in 2020, he was the content creator i watched the most. New stuff, old stuff, short clips, long streams, anything i could watch, I did. I even managed to catch a few streams live, talk in chat and join the voices There's one memory that I'm sure will be with me my entire life. One day, in early 2021, he was streaming. I had put the stream on the living room TV, my mom working from home on the other side of the wall. He was streaming on a Minecraft server that has since died (and wasn't very good towards the end). It was a planned stream, to destroy the land of a nation on the server. The event is called Doomsday, as the resulting crater reached bedrock. It was a great stream, a very fun one. It was also happening as the same time as the US capital siege, which is the only reason I remember that day was January 6th. It's a very good memory of mine, seeing Minecraft destruction and seeing the chat fly by talking about the capital attack. Tommy hilariously getting struck by lightning and Techno's great response. The resulting fanart and animatics. A very good memory indeed Another good memory, or series of memories in this case, was all the Techno and Ranboo interactions. They were an amazing duo, and i lived for every time they were on call together. That one moment were Techno implied that he had only gone to talk to Ranboo bc he was waiting for his merch to drop, them ringing the bell together to encourage people to buy merch, Techno suddenly appearing on Ranboo's stream bc he saw a snow fox and wanted it. That duo will always be my favorite thing to come from that now dead server Another very good memory. One of, if not the, first stream i watched live. I can't exactly remember what the stream was about, but for about ten minutes in it, he is running from someone. Someone who just ended up giving him food. The talk while he's on that tower, the drop, all the hilarious moments. Such a good time I binged a lot of his Skywars videos when he was who i watched the most. I loved just listening to his voice as he talked about anything and everything. I also watched a lot of his bed wars videos, including that one where he insists on only punching people at some point. I remember seeing him in one of Wilbur Soot's 100 players videos, the ant one, and how he was hunting others just bc he could. I remember when him and Philza were in a stronghold, and him yelling for Phil when a baby zombie attacked. I remember when him, Ranboo, and Phil were waiting for a baby villager to grow up, and the hilarious conversation that ensued I have a lot of good memories of Technoblade, a lot I haven't mentioned. He was, and kinda still is, a big part of my life. I wouldn't be the same if he hadn't become a KZbinr, it's as simple as that I'm ADHD, like Techno was. One part of that is hyperfixations, which is an intense interest that practically takes over your life for months. It can be anything, a game, a hobby, a show, a person even. Techno was one of my hyperfixations. When it inevitably shifted to something new (which ended up being Ranboo next), i still kept up with Techno and watched every upload, attempted to catch every stream Something that isn't mentioned all that much about hyperfixations, is how you might feel about ones you had in the past. They don't give the same intensity as they did before, but there's something special about engaging in them again, even years later. At some point, i have to get the Portal games again, a hyperfixation I had 7 years ago that still brings me great joy even just watching others play it, and even tho I've beaten both games more than I can count. This is how I am about Techno. I will never not feel a special kind of joy when I watch anything of his. Even tho he will never make content again, that joy will never die, bc there's always the replay button Blood for the Blood God Technoblade never dies Not even close E

The simple answer for your confusion about skyblock is that you should look at minecraft as not a game, but a game with a game engine inside it. It has so much customizability with even vanilla commands that dedicated communities make entirely new experiences with it. Hypixel is a very popular minecraft server with a popular game on it called skyblock, which is what techno is playing here. It's like it's own complex mmo, created by fans!

Honestly my favourite memories of Techno are probably the chats he had with his friends after the main part of the stream had finished but none of them had logged off or ended stream yet. He was still so funny but just also clearly having a lot of fun and just chilling. Especially the chat with Phil after MC Championship 9 where they had been on different teams but escaped the chaos of the other voice chats into an empty one. Also the entire November's 16th 2020 stream which was a revolution storyline event on the Dream SMP that was just amazing. Frankly great storytelling, with great twists (not in that any of them were huge surprises but in that they changed the direction of the story in an interesting and satisfying way) Plus that stream also had a great section where Techno and Phil just hang out afterwards and chat, which also started a recurring joke that Phil's viewers still repeat EVERYTIME he runs into a baby zombie, but I'm not gonna tell you all the details lol. But that stream was what made me solidly a Techno fan I think. Before that I just thought of him as an internet funny man but the storytelling and the level of effort and thought he put into it really hooked me.

D B G . The best technoblade video. He joined a four man Team tournament Last second. And the admin made him count as TWO people on the four man team. His team Slaughtered everybody! Other teams got together so there would be about a group of 30 people attacking TechnoBlade at once! He slaughtered them so badly, That it got to the point where he would come around the corner of a building and people would start Screaming RUN RUN. It's technoblade !! and there would literally be thirty people running away from One man with an axe! tecnoblade had a hell of a sense of humor too. in many videos he would yell "Blood for the Blood God!" 😆 In previous tournaments the most kills anyone Ever got was less than 30 . Techno Blade killed Over THREE HUNDRED people HIMSELF!!!!

If you ever happen to watch Techno's PVP stuff, a helpful thing to know is that in Minecraft version 1.9 there was a big combat update that most of the PVP community absolutely hated and so a lot of the PVP oriented servers (including the biggest server, Hypixel) just never updated to newer versions and are still on 1.8. There have since been new servers that use the newer versions and the new combat system has gotten a lot more popular, partly because of KZbinrs like Dream and events like MCC (MC Championships). But Technoblade mostly played on Hypixel so he was always a 1.8 PVPer at heart, even after he started playing in 1.9+ tournaments and a joined some SMP servers that used the newest version. It's important context especially for the famous Dream vs. Technoblade duel, because this is why they ended up switching versions between rounds. Dream is mainly a 1.9+ player (although he also started out in the earlier combat system) so for the duel to be even they had to use both versions equally. ^^^ that's the actual important points, but I'm just gonna ramble on a bit more about the details, feel free to skip the rest: 1.8 favours very fast and aggressive combat and high clickspeeds, 1.9+ is all about deliberate timing, critical hits and a lot of defensive play with shields and fast regeneration, and it's much slower. 1.8 favours the sword as the main weapon, in 1.9+ axe is generally the better weapon* despite being slower than the sword. * there are some situations where sword is still better, but I won't get into the details. Techno himself did the maths once when he was deciding whether to keep using the axe or to switch to his maxxed out sword and he chose the sword since despite doing less damage per hit it makes up for it by being faster (assuming you can combo your opponent which is much harder to do in 1.9+ than in 1.8), but frankly that's a choice he was only able to make because he was good at PVP. It's technically an effective strat but it requires a lot of skill to execute, and it still almost got him killed at least once and he had to run for it. (Although to be fair he was also badly outnumbered so it wasn't just about the sword.) Also in 1.8 the only ranged weapon is the bow, but since 1.9 more have been introduced, including the crossbow which was added in 1.14. In 1.8 you can block (partially) with your sword, in 1.9+ you have a shield that blocks all damage unless it's disabled with an axe or pierced with a crossbow. (This is part of why axes and crossbows are so important in PVP in the current versions, on top of other benefits, despite both of them being slower than their classic counterparts.) The shield is such a huge deal in 1.9+, to the extent that sometimes minigames or tournaments deliberately leave them out, probably to avoid having them completely dictate the combat and to make the sword and the bow actually viable weapons again. The devs have been talking about a new combat update for years now but there's hasn't been any hints of it actually coming out any time soon. We'll see how that goes if it ever does happen. The devs do know how unpopular 1.9 was so I think they're trying to be more careful about it this time. Although it's possible that they might just not even do it after all, since 1.9+ combat _has_ gotten more popular now that people have gotten used to it. But a lot of people still prefer 1.8. (Including me, even though I got into Minecraft late (in 2017) and so I actually learned 1.9+ first. But 1.8 is just way more intuitive and fun for me personally.) ETA: the current version is of course 1.19 now, so there's already been ten updates since the 1.9 combat update that all use the 1.9+ system, although as I said, they've added new weapons since then like the crossbow. Also 1.9 came out in 2016, _seven years ago._ People are just _still_ that hung up on it lmao

There is spoilers on battling though with weapons and ways of using weapons may not see but shows how players can interact and battle each other as that video is just about people fighting each other for a charity stream which you would not really see when it comes to just playing by yourself in a world fighting against mobs. I found Technoblade through the Dream SMP. He somehow paired the driest, blackest humour with casual intelligence, humility and self-deprecation with boastfulness, and everything I saw of him struck a tone with me. One of my favourite moments of what I saw of him is the video "Absolutely Ruining a $36,000 Minecraft Tournament", in which he and two other players joyfully employ the power of clout and just wreak havoc on the other players in the tournament. It's a great watch and definitely something I'd reccomend watching as well, if you like - also spoiler free and little lighter on the modded stuff then potato war is :)

Read the pinned comment on the Potato War video. It makes it even funnier. But yeah, Skyblock is a gamemode where you have extremely limited resources on a Minecraft map, and you are forced to rely heavily on renewable resources like wood and cobblestone from a cobblestone generator. This version of Skylocks is on the Hypixel server, and Hypixel Skyblock doesn't focus on resource management, but on server economy and custom dungeons. The thing about server side mods is that you don't need to download anything to play on them, you can just logon to the Hypixel network and start playing with nothing but your vanilla client and the server IP. Things like minions, coins, and leaderboards aren't vanilla. Hypixel is a very prolific Minecraft creator who got famous for making a downloadable map called "Herobrine's Mansion", which was a revolutionary map at the time, using his knowledge of Minecraft's tools to make custom enemies and equipment, much of which would inspire what he'd do on the Hypixel server. Technoblade would get very good at game modes on Hypixel called "Sky Wars", a PVP gamemode in which players would attempt to eliminate other players starting on floating islands similar to the Hunger Games but in the sky, and "Bed Wars", a PVP gamemode in which teams of players would eliminate each other but could still respawn if they had a bed, and the goal was to destroy all enemy beds and players. This would hone his PVP skills to compete in one of the most prolific Minecraft tournaments since Minecraft renaissance; Minecraft Mondays, a tournament featuring all sorts of Minecraft youtubers and streamers with real prize money (big names like Pewdiepie, XQC, CaptainSparkles, etc), in which people would be astonished by Technoblade's skill and ingenuity. Technoblade would get so ahead above his competition that the tournament organisers had to add more game modes that didn't feature PVP combat, and even then the man would prepare some crazy things that would help his team, like memorising all the builds in build mart, a game mode in which players would have to mine blocks from a storage area (a shop, or mart) and replicate builds exactly, and the team with the most builds completed in the lowest time wins.

Hey, just a heads up, almost everything you saw in this video isn’t in vanilla Minecraft. Hypixel’s skyblock is a very modified version of the game, having their own rules, mechanics and gameplay. It’s almost a different game altogether. (Which may be why people said this series doesn’t spoil you). An interesting fact about the phrase “Technoblade never dies”, that you may or may not already know, is that this saying was his catchphrase long before anything serious occurred (making its meaning now even more poetic). It just so happened to fit into the new subject almost seamlessly, be that for the better or worse. Great reaction, really liked the beginning of your video, and of course.. Technoblade never dies.

Just for some clarification, the Skyblock he was playing on is a multi-player server called Hypixel, It's almost like a mmo and has complex mechanics all to its own, including the minions. One of the best things was when people found out that Technoblade died almost the whole lobby for skyblocks was filled with people wearing Technoblade skins riding on pigs, another mini game he played alot called Bedwars was also filled with players wearing Technoblade skins, with the chat saying "Technoblade never dies". I don't know if it's still the case, but I know at least for a time on KZbin. If you searched Technoblade, it would give an autocorrect that said his catchphrase. Technoblade never dies!!!
