@@Servellion There's a reason why it's meme'd at but also depends on who understand the jokes VS who just came as rookie on the whole lore. The Imperium does not necessarily destroy planets like a maniac who just call out exterminatus for no context but they will not hesitate to if the planet is beyond saving. Which of course this is 40K universe were talking about and many planets has been render uninhabitable. A lot of civilians in other words, average humans, doesn't know what Space Marine is mostly they heard just a myth and stories. Think of them like the last resort to fight against xenos, mutants and heretic. Guardsmen is like their average 24/7 military like us with the Army. If the Army/Guardsmen can't stop it then Space Marine will be their "angels". But if Space Marine also find difficulty to exterminate the invaders/enemies, then exterminatus if the only option. Same example in SM2, if Titus and his team has no plans/alternatives then bye bye the planet they were in.

@@Blackout27able the process of becoming a marine ideally must start preteen as the body is most accepting of major changes during puberty, normally they implant the geneseed which is the first stage between ages 10 to 14 but if the boy has shown great potential it can be started as late as 16 but there is more risks of his body rejecting the process due to having a much smaller window for growth etc

So the concept here is that the space marine holy globules contain the identity of the marines. So if they die, as long as the holy globules are extracted, they can be placed into another boy child and come back to life. So Chestnut gathered his teams globules and once they're put into new kids, his team will be back as they were.

I'm still screaming from the rooftops that you need to watch Helsreach. It's such a good (2.5 hour long) 40k fan animation. It follows the story of Grimaldus of the Black Templars while he defends a hive city against an ork invasion.

Flashgitz are old 40k fans, they've made "Trails of Drago" + some funny videos about space hulk terminators 10-15+ years ago, one of the first 40k animations on youtube. Flashgitz are a 40k name btw: Flash Gitz are an elite breed of Ork Nobz who are obsessed with their lovingly customised, ostentatiously polished and painted weapons known as Snazzguns that can potentially wipe out entire squads of infantry in a hail of fire. Unlike other Nobz, Flash Gitz prefer "more dakka" to being "stompier," that is to say, they have a preference for ranged fire over melee combat. They are powerful ranged heavy infantry troops for an Ork WAAAGH!.

Like others has spammed, SPACE KING is Flashgitz's own property, and tooootally not related to 40k so GW can't sue them. That being said, if we pretend that SPACE KING was a obvious 40k parody, the Star Defenders are pretty much the Crimson Fists chapter (founded from the Imperial FIsts) but with their colours reversed. The scene with the Star Defenders on a pile of bodies is also mimicking a famous 40k art piece "Crimson Fsts' Last Stand".

There's somewhere around a thousand space marine chapters as a statement of lore. Only a fraction of them have ever even been named. This is for the purposes of homebrewing. It lets the players and fans fill in the gaps. Every faction is constructed in a way that players can make their own sub-factions. You get a space marine chapter, you get a space marine chapter, you get a space marine chapter.

So the main space marine chapters are the legions that you saw bricky discuss in his every space marine legion video. Back before and during the horus heresy, space marines were in legions which numbers in the tens-hundreds of thousands, but after the betrayal the primarch of the ultra marines roboute guilliman created the codex astertes which dictates that the legions should be divided into chapters limited to 1000 space marines each, with some exceptions, so that the risk of an uprising was significantly lowered. The main legions exist as chapters now and are considered founding chapters and there are successor chapters that are brached from those original founding chapters. They still have the same gene seed from the same primarch that that the founding chapter has (even though some have mutated over time) but they don't always share the same views and specializations that their founding chapter has. For example bricky was talking about the black templars which are a successor chapter of the imperial fists with their primarch being rogal dorn. The black templars are probably one of the most famous successor chapters because they utilize a loophole in the codex astartes that states that a chapter may have more than 1000 astartes if the chapter is on a crusade. So naturally they are ALWAYS crusading. Flashgitz actually has a series of warhammer parody videos that feature the black templars, and I highly suggest watching them because they are hilarious.

would highly recommend "Baldermort's guide to warhammer's" video on Fulgrim, its the story of the fall of the primarch of the emperor's children. it has a lot of good information about horus heresy. Space King was Flashgitz answer to Games Workshop getting suddenly very upset about fan using their IP even thou nearly all of the best animations were fan made (the two ones made for the 9th and 10th edition rulebook trailers were made right after the maker of Astartes got hired by them, not sure they worked on it but GW never bothered with making trailers for the tabletop before the Astartes series was drawing in alot of new fans) GW made Flashgitz delete some of their older 40k animations as well so they made this "Legally Distinct" new sci fi animation as sort of a middle finger to them also fun note: this was closer to how space marines acted from editions 2 - 5 before they started to ease up on certain more grim dark elements and start to shift them to more heroic figures we see in current 40k (10th edition) instead of borderline psychotic killing machines that were only kept inline though religious, psychological brainwashing and "loyalty chips" in their brains XD
