A few Fun Facts: Canonically this takes place an unknown amount of years after Majora’s Mask. It’s also the only game to receive a T rating and if you want to get technical the only game where Link is stated in-game to *NOT* be from Hyrule. Every other game either doesn’t specify or is before Hyrule was established.

You know what's cool Dee? If you look closely, you can see that all the people in Ordon village actually have round ears instead of the usual Hylian pointy ears. So technically, the Ordonians are human, and obviously Hylians are based on elves.
@MarcelaR-L3 жыл бұрын
Whaaaaaat I never noticed that!
@dissolution98433 жыл бұрын
Yup, though the terms Hylian and Ordonian are nationalities ascribed to citizens of those provinces as well. There can be Hylian Ordonians like in Link's case, and vice versa. Though both races are referred to as "human" by other races. Just subraces of humanity I assume.
@Good_Hot_Chocolate3 жыл бұрын
@dissolution9843 I think you mean species and sub-species. The fact that they are physically different, especially with the ears, means a significant anthropological difference. Thus, they are likely different sub-species of the genus Homo. Meaning that this world's humans have sub-species unlike ours, all ours died out. Sub-species can only be identified in pairs. All other sub-species of humans died out, so as the sole remaining sub-species, we are technically considered to have no sub-species.

To me Skyward Sword has been my favorite, though I will say Majora's Mask is objectively the best game in the series. Nothing is as unique yet as refined as it. Kinda sucks though that the joycons are so much less accurate than the Wii mote for SS. Just got HD and it loses calibration constantly. I used to play SS in the car not even having line of sight of the sensor and go 6 hours straight without calibrating. Being a fan of cinematic experiences though, I expect Dee to say this is his favorite game. That or SS. TP has the more developed cinematics while SS has a slightly more mysterious undertone to the story. But I think Dee will still say this is his favorite after the entire series.

I think he sees why Twilight Princess has my favorite intro of all the 3D Zelda games. Link just has a normal life. We get to see his daily routine: work the farm, chat up the villagers, babysit some kids, have a day off. Link wasn’t the weird one without a fairy or Zelda’s knight or anything special. He was just a guy. Going to Hyrule Castle may have been an exciting highlight of his life that he tells his kids about one day. You’re oddly just as excited as Link is about it, but then fate has other plans and now Link has to save the world. You almost yell at the screen “this is not the game you were setting up!” before you realize you’ve just started the prologue. Wind Waker is pretty similar, but he hasn’t played it yet, so I don’t want to write about it here. It’s also good and I do like it, but I think TP captures how mild Link’s life is a bit better.

I have this theory that the monsters were sent to kidnap the kids because they were looking for the one with the hero's spirit (ie link). They grabbed all the kids, but link in this game is basically a young adult (they seem to imply he's at an age when he should get out and see the world) so they don't bother with him until they find him as a wolf, and they don't know who he is. I figure this explains why they dump the kids later in kakariko, because they realise none of the kids is the chosen hero

The general consensus is that Majora's Mask is the darkest Zelda game. Twilight Princess tries to be dark, but... Majora's Mask simply is dark. That's not to say that TP is a bad game. The beginning is atrociously long and there's definitely some major design issues (like most tools being practically useless outside of the dungeons you get them in), but it still offers a grand, epic adventure in the land of Hyrule. Comparing what we see here to what we've seen in the Breath of the Wild 2 trailer, there's some trends. Link's arm markings look like Midna's, both in color and patterns. Now, (2:00:40) the drop reversing is the same as when Breath of the Wild 2 Link flies upward and through a platform. We're definitely revisiting some form of Twilight stuff in Breath of the Wild 2. On a semi-related note, there's no way Majora wasn't also some kind of Twilight creature.

Dont feel too bad about jumping off the castle roof DeeBee, I think we all did that at least once in that section when this first came out.

You may have figured this out, but you actually can refill the lantern by just dunking it.

The only things I found were missing from BotW/TotK is swimming underwater which Twilight Princess had!! This was my first Zelda game, it was the reason I bought BotW on release day with the Switch just from how good this game was...lol Then I played BotW for 1600+ hours.

Midna is such a cool character, and most Zelda fans would tell you she is the best companion character in the series, as you play through you really start to notice how she develops and its awesome, I hope in any future Zelda titles they look back at this game for a companion character.

Oh my goodness I am so happy this is up to watch. I've been so excited for you to play Twilight Princess, it was my favorite Zelda game before Breath of the Wild was made. There are so many things I am looking forward to you discovering with this game and I really want to see what you think of Midna as the story goes along. She's my favorite companion out of the series. Time for another adventure! Thanks for uploading Dee Bee Geek!
