As I've gotten older, I have realized a minimalist approach to holidays and Christmas helps my moods. The more I did, the more I was feeling cluttered and overwhelmed. Now I can enjoy the season vs feeling like I was on a treadmill. While I love your decorating videos, to have decor in storage and changing almost weekly with all you already do, seems exhausting. Give yourself grace.

3 years ago, my house started to look like a HomeGoods store at Christmas time! It was stunning, but my style and lifestyle has changed. It was very difficult to de-clutter/donate/sell the xmas stuff cuz it's all so dang gorgeous! But now my decor is perfect and not overwhelming - and MUCH easier to store year round! Best decision ever!

The earlier and crazier that Christmas decorating is for everyone else, the less special it all feels for me. And it’s such a disappointment to me that the consumerism of Christmas is so out of hand that we can’t even allot 1 day (Thanksgiving) to non-consumerism. I have been decorating less and less as time goes on and I find a tree and table scape throughout December is more than enough for my family to maintain the feeling of our home being a calm haven at the end of the day that’s also festive & fun. Not needing to manage a thousand boxes of stuff has been an amazing bonus!

We love our decorations when the holidays roll around. We have a lot, but not what we can't manage. If I can't do it myself without being exhausted and it taking away from enjoying the season, it's not worth it. November will be fall things out, but Christmas doesn't come out until after so we enjoy the season we are in😊

We are enjoying our Halloween decor. My family loves the decor for each holiday so It will be Thanksgiving decor in November and then Christmas after. I’m trying to elevate my decor from “cutesy” to a more elegant / natural look. I’ve been enjoying watching you tube videos that show more nature brought into the home. This year I started decorating with less. I only change a couple things in the house so I don't get overwhelmed. For example seasonal florals/greenery is a simple way to bring in the holidays. I like to bring in decor in pillows/blankets/ kitchen towels. Because those are easy to keep out without looking like clutter, they are easy to wash and store away. I used to go all out and by the time the holiday would roll around I would be so ready to take it all down. I found that if I do minimal decor I can keep it up longer without feeling the need to take it all down so quickly.

I agree with everyone on minimalist decorating. I usually go all out and then I tire of it early since it looks cluttered. I will do better this year. I try to have dinner done between 5 and 6. In the fall and winter months I aim for two crockpot meals per week. Start it early and not have to worry about it. I love your idea on taking the Halloween decor down on the inside early. I also love how the pup jumps up to inspect your work and add the finishing touches 😂

I had family in for the Christmas holiday last year. I went way over the top with decor. This year I want to be very minimal with Christmas decor. Like you, I love to decorate for each and every holiday, but do feel like sometimes I have to dust much more often.

I too feel overwhelmed and I feel like my home is cluttered when I over decorate for most holidays. The only holiday this does not happened to me is Christmas. A tip I learned is to not decorate the second floor so if I need a break from all decorations I go upstairs and it clears my mind.

I only decorate for fall as we have no trick or treaters. We live out in the country now and there’s no kids around. When we lived in the city I would go all out with giant spider webs and dry ice machines and spooky music. I loved giving the kids tons of candy. Starting November first I will take all the fall stuff down and start decorating for Christmas. Your 👻house always looks so cool with your Halloween decor and I bet your kiddies just love it. Actually not doing Halloween this year. Got enough fall about, and since the kids don’t come now, I figured Id leave it in the attic., also about 1/3 of fall. I take pictures every year so I knew what was missing.. I’ve also giving lots to my girls, as it’s getting a lot to carry down. They’re enjoying it, and that’s just fine. I’m 82, hubby 83, so we’ve done lots of decor changes over the years. Happy Halloween all!😊❤

This year I am starting early to do my Christmas decorations due to my granddaughter being away at college and giving a time she can be able to come. She is going to be decorating my trees. We started this tradition when she was so young she could only reach a few of the bottom limbs. Gives us time together. My other grandchildren are married now. They always helped also. I'd decide which one I like better, the over the top decorating or the over the top buying.. and then cut back a little in the 2nd choice option. I decorate more now than I used to but I buy WAY less in the way of gifts. I don't think a lot of people actually enjoy gift exchanges because it takes up a lot of time/effort/money that they don't have. ( at least for the people we know )

I'm doing less as well. I think if you have too much, it takes away from EVERYTHING causing it all to compet with each other. I'm just going to put up a balanced amount of things with lots of negative space between each vignette and going to make the tree and fireplace the big impact spots, allowing them to really pop!

Yes girl, Soft Scrub is my go-to for kitchen and bathroom sink deep cleans. Soft Scrub with bleach on my sinks and my showers get Soft Scrub lemon just so I don’t completely ruin my clothes with bleach. Love ALL your videos (even though your cooking makes me feel like a failure in the kitchen lol), but especially the decorating and cleaning. You’re a dynamo and I don’t know how you have the energy to do all the things you manage to juggle. Happy Halloween! 🎃 👻 🧙

We always ate at 5:00-5:30. Gave the kids time to settle down and not have full belly’s before bed. They always slept better as well, and showered in bed by 8:00.

No I am trying to enjoy the fall season, I also live in California. It is wonderful to get the 70’s low 80’s it is beautiful with all the California colors. I do not decorate for Halloween I just tend to keep it in the fall until after Thanksgiving then I go for the christmas decor.

I like the idea of those robot vacuums, but I've heard too many stories of people being able to hack into them. Back then it was just the floorplan they could get, but with them now having a camera too I'd be too worried someone was watching. :) Last year I went the most over the top for Christmas than I have ever done before by a long shot. It was fun but a lot of work. I am not sure what I'm doing this year. So far I don't feel inspired and I'm really enjoying the fall decor. I don't do Halloween or Thanksgiving, just fall in general. Love seeing Pepe trotting around.

I find I have to move anything that could get sucked up in the vacuum from the floor such as my curtains that touch the floor. I have a Bobsweep in one section of my house and a Wyze in the other section of my house. They both do a great job but the one thing that no robot vacuum can do is get in the corners. Getting ready for my fall/winter garden in S Texas.
