they have really struck gold with this relationship, and to think it wasn't even intentional from the start of the show, but everything managed to come together in such a way that tommy makes so much sense for buck!! 1) Tommy's favorite movie is "Love, Actually" and buck had a character-centric episode titled "Buck, Actually." 2) Buck sits in the exact same place that Tommy used to sit. 3) Tommy once said: "Chicks love scars, it’s getting them that scares them." This line is a direct foreshadowing for Ali breaking up with Buck after the fire truck incident.

@hed65226 ай бұрын
@@elliottwatt5297No it doesn't. It just means that the connection between Buck and Tommy was accidental, which makes the whole thing even more iconic. They weren't supposed to be together, hell i'm not even sure if they were going to meet each other at all, but at the end of the day everything pushed them to become a couple.
@lateramae7 ай бұрын
At first, this relationship caught me by surprise because the show made it seem like Buck was jealous of Tommy spending so much time with Eddie. But then the moment leading up to Buck and Tommy's first kiss had me hooked on these two. You're absolutely right about the 118 treating Buck like a lovable little brother who screws up from time to time. Tommy, on the other hand, sees Buck as an individual and brings out the best in him. Just look at how confident he was in the hospital showing off their relationship to everyone! Buck's growth during these past few episodes alone has been a pleasure to watch. Plus, Buck is absolutely smitten with Tommy and he seems much happier with him than with any of the women he's dated in the past!
@mervyngreene66877 ай бұрын
I LOVED the show's "misdirection," taking advantage of (poking fun at) the "Buddie" mania. I think that we (especially this video) are reading too much into less than 10 minutes of screen time. Remember, this is just the beginning of the storyline. Buck is obviously suffers from "youngest brother" syndrome at the 118. I agree that he is constantly the victim of "backhanded" complements. HOWEVER, that is definitely NOT the case with Maddie.The Buck/Maddie relationship is a textbook case study of the incredibly unique bond between siblings. There is nothing "mean" or "backhanded" about her comments. It is how deeply connected siblings interact. That is why the whole Daniel storyline was so heartbreaking.
@Dazzlefae7 ай бұрын
I absolutely love the whole Invisible String thing with them. Because of the fact that it was totally by accident. They'd never even planned to have the two of them MEET let alone start dating! And yet there are all these little things all throughout the show that just links them and it just makes it feel so natural. I am very excited to see more of them, and I really hope they carry them on into Season 8. (I think they will, they've mostly had a very positive reaction from fans...)
@tiararoxeanne13187 ай бұрын
This gives me hope and strengthens my belief about the existence of God. I've read so many stories about real life coincidences and invisible string events on the internet, but this... this is different. This is real... happening in front of our very own eyes... in front of legions of people who have been watching the show. I couldn't believe that so many coincidences happened in the *production of a freaking TV show, spanning over 6 years period🤯🤯🤯!!!* It feels like not only us, even God wants them to be together. I mean, what is the odd that Lou Ferrigno Jr. was available for, or even agreed to this storyline? The last time he's been on the show was literally 5 years ago!

What impressed me the most about Tommy's introduction as a love interest was that he isn't sequestered off away form the 118 like all the others have been. He knows them, knew some before Buck did, and they established a relationship for him with Eddie and Chris before he and Buck had their moment. So much of that loft scene before the kiss was about Tommy reassuring Buck of his significance to Eddie and Chris, and how that wouldn't be an issue. He feels integrated in a way that's new and feels long-term. Now, shirtless Muay Thai lessons when??

Look, Buck and Eddie's relationship will always have a special place in my heart. It's what got me hooked on 911. Their friendship is amazing to watch and makes great TV. HOWEVER, when Tommy comes right in and just snatched Buck's breath away like how Eddie kind of did at first but this time it ran him over like a truck and the fact that Tommy was on his mind ever since that tiny revelation. I just love that. Buck and Tommy might be the fresh air that I need when I watch 911 and I hope that Tommy will stay for the long run. It's a much more interesting story to explore for me.

Wish you could whisper in Tim’s ear to plead for the continuation of this relationship- Tommy is a gift for Buck and needs to stay long enough to give Buck a view of a confident love. I love your video! And I've been saying this, they really made a great choice by bringing back, already existing character to be a love interest. There is also something to Buck and Tommy relationship that just feels very RIGHT in a way. Even tho it was not intentional on the writers part, I love how their stories seems to be connected in a way. I truly hope that Tommy is the one for Buck. We are at the end of season 7, I think that this is the time for them to keep Buck's love interest
@tyyger284 ай бұрын
And it shows that Tommy has grown up himself. He was not nice to Chimney or Hen when they first started with 118...but he was following the crowd wanting to belong because I think he already knew himself he was gay and not able to be honest with them. But the way Buck says how confident Tommy is, I thought yes, because he has become his own man now.
@pipoo17 ай бұрын
In some ways I think Buck is the most tragic character in the series, he’s the guy with a heart of pure gold, whose been searching his whole life for a place and a family where he belongs and time and time again he’s ended up lonely and rejected and rarely if ever for reasons that were his fault. I just think back to the start of season 6 where Bobby tried to explain to Buck why he didn’t think he was ready to be Captain, Buck seems so confident and at ease with himself since Tommy that I really hope this opens the door to other character development for him too.

There's only so much of the same stagnant course of his love life that fans could take before they gave up. The excitement people are feeling for Buck finally having that love, is widespread and returning so many fans. The people who refuse to give Tommy a chance and the story it's due time to develop must not love Buck. Because how can you see how happy he has been since Tommy, and not be excited for him? Whether they last or not (i pray they do) i will be as happy for him as he is being with Tommy.

They have a lot of chemistry and I really look forward to seeing them grow. I just want Buck to be loved as much as he deserves because he cares SO much about the people around him
@rgjmaurice7857 ай бұрын
Wonderful analysis! I'm noticing the complimentary nature in their characters. Buck is impulsive and reckless, I mean, this is well established in the exploration of his character. What I've seen so far of Tommy is that he's considerate and self-reflective: checking in with Buck about the kiss, walking away from the date because he didn't want to rush him. I feel like we've seen the downside of this self-reflection in Tommy suppressing his sexuality in the era of Capt Gerard at the 118. I'm glad he was able to use it to come out, become confident and meet Buck. I look forward to seeing how these differences play out in their relationship.
@tiararoxeanne13185 ай бұрын
Oh, you're so right. Tommy's character is quite the opposite of Buck's, but they are complimentary. I've been re-watching Season 2 episodes with Tommy in them, and he was like a different character. I think, like Buck, he has been through quite a journey + character development since leaving 118. I mean, Season 7 Buck is clearly not the same punk we saw in Season 1. If we compared both versions id Buck, we would hardly recognize them as the same person. Oh, I hope they make Tommy a reguler and give us a 'Tommy Begins' journey. It would be interesting.

This came across my feed and I love it! I've never been a Buddie fan and that relationship would never work as a romantic interest. Reason #1-No where have I seen anybody queer-code Eddie-only Buck. Reason #2-Eddie is a better brother to Buck than love interest.. Everything points to that. Buck hasn't had strong male figures in his life and Eddie, Chimney, and Bobby help him with navigating his lack of discipline, accountability, respect for authority, etc-- all things it takes to be a mature male. (I don't give Abby that credit because Bobby did the heavy lifting). Reason #3-- A romantic relationship with Eddie would be a disaster. Buck will feel stifled like Shannon felt stifled in a relationship with Eddie. Eddie has deep wounds and in denial about them. Reason #4-- The actors themselves-- I love Ryan Guzman, but he can't pull-off being Bi- or Gay. It wouldn't be believable. Not every straight actor can do it and that's okay. He's a Latin Lover and I can't wait to see him own it. Oliver and Lou can pull this off with their eyes closed!! LOL I've seen previous roles both have played and they are chameleons--especially Lou. I hope the Tevan canon/arc continues because it just feels right.

Welp. Tommy has moved on, but I still don't see him with Eddie -- it's too much like clickbait now. Maybe Buck can find him a nice cop -- male or female. Like his mentor dad!!

I loved your video. Thank you so much for your wonderful deep dive with Buck, his Bisexual Journey and his relationship with Tommy. I adore the relationship between Buck and Tommy. I loved how you mentioned these little moments about Buck's friends teasing him with quotes like "Bucked that Up", which is essentially why I love the fact that Tommy is calling him Evan and that Buck is obviously comfortable being called Evan by Tommy. (With his parents, we've observed that Buck is capable of calling people off from calling him Evan.) He's not going to "Buck Up" that relationship because around Tommy, he's Evan, and they are actually building a foundation based on communication. Tommy checked twice after kissing Buck for the first time ("Like that?" and "So that was OK?") and Tommy also took a step back when Buck panicked during the date and shoved him back into the closet. In turn, Buck gathered the confidence to talk about this with his sister and his best friend. He made the decision to reach out for Tommy again and they went from there with a pretty solid foundation, if you are asking me. I am genuinely looking forward to the next two episodes because it seems like we'll get another hospital scene where Tommy shows up to be there for Buck. I am also sincerely hoping to witness their relationship flourish even more during season 8.

Love this video! And I've loved Buck's journey. I've never been a fan of Buck's girlfriends - Abby was in no position to be dating anybody, let alone Buck; Ally was doomed to failure from the start; Taylor was always career oriented, and the job would always be her priority. But with all the girls Buck has been with, I don't remember seeing him smile as big or as bright as he does with Tommy. I'm loving the difference between "Buck" and "Evan" too. Our boy is really coming into his own! ❤

Oh, I agree about Abby. I especially don't like the fact that SHE was the one who pursued the relationship, not Buck. I don't mind a May - December relationship as long as it was the YOUNGER person who pursued the older one. The other way around always feels predatory, no matter how you look at it. Yes, both parties have grown up and Buck has been way past his teenager phase when Abby pursued him, but even adults have vulnerable moments. So, it still feels predatory.

But we all remember his bonding with that gay guy and the tape worm right 😂 06:07 If I'm remembering correctly, I don't think at the time fans did dislike his relationship with Abbie. This is one of the best breakdowns of the BuckTommy relationship 👏 Everything that I've been saying to ppl, u just said & more. I totally forgot about Abby's mom calling him Tommy. Or even all those other 6 degrees of separation moments 🤭 Great video

I loved this video! I'm loving BuckTommy so much. I heard the rumor about them about a month and a half before the season aired and was so surprised ?? The fact that it actually happened... I've been watching this show since s4, headcanoning Buck as bisexual, clinging to the hope they'd do it 1 day... and wow... they did!! and I love this relationship more than I even expected. The fact these are all coincidences is so shocking, but at the same time, they couldn't write it better if they planned it. I'm so happy to see a positive video about BuckTommy. They need and deserve the positivity!

tbh I watched 911 because I heard there was a gay storyline and saw clips about Buck but I didn't know it was all the way in season 7 but there was Hen and the storytelling of this show really pulled me in so I didn't throw the tv show away but I was never expecting Tommy and buck would get together although i really love it, I always thought it would be buck and Eddie from the very beginning and I still remember s2e08 the influencer live stream they teased buddie really thought it would happen but i don't think its coming anymore after Tommy, hope they tell a beautiful love story between buck and tommy at least

OUTSTANDING. Your passion and love for the show comes across as so authentic and effortless. Not sure I’ve seen such a wonderfully inspiring character breakdown anywhere on KZbin. Keep it up! ❤

So many little hints thru all the past seasons. All those bread crumbs. It feels like they planned bucktommy for years now 🤩
