Just a little recommendation when it comes to water holes / bog holes. Lay off the skinny pedal until the front tires have gotten in and displaced some water, particularly deeper holes. Then give it the berries if needed to make it through. In my experience it reduces the amount of water and debris jetting right up against the radiator, fan, air intake etc. Not as much thrusted up on the windshield either. Guy with coolant issue could very well have shot a chunk of ice up there, which es no bueno. All-in-all it looked like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.

Speaking of those little cabins, my grandfather told me that out west all those old cabins were built with rough logs just laid on the soil. They have decomposed slowly and uniformly and over time they appear to get shorter. He showed me a cabin with my great grandfather's initials that is now only about 4 feet tall, when once a six-foot man could easily walk in. Great video!

My wife and I have been watching your channel for a while now. Have to say, "It's our favorite channel." We love watching every video and drooling over Marco's food that he makes. We've owned several Jeeps (not as many as you have lol) but we are looking for something more comfortable for long trips. Currently we own a LJ that we've been rock crawling for the last 11 years and it's time for a change. We've thought about the Grand Cherokee but wondered if it would take us to where we want to go. We would love to see more videos with the Bronco maybe Black Bear Pass or Telluride. Until then, we'll be waiting for your next video.

I was up there this weekend, though didn't make it out to the trails this time. Funny that that 2WD truck made it into the video. Someone had posted about it in Facebook group I'm in. The truck couldn't make it out, and someone else broke an axle trying to tow them. With the trail blocked, a lot of folks out there didn't make it back until after nightfall. Glad you were able to turn around when you did.
@lakertang2 жыл бұрын
I was there on Saturday , leaving around 4pm heading out Polique canyon. There was an icy hill that people decided to turn around on coming or going. Just slippery and trucks sliding. I decided to put on my chains just to be safe going up it with the whole family in the truck. As I was doing that there was this 2wd Silverado in gold or brown color that was just sliding all over the road coming at us. Luckily he was able to stop. Hiss reasoning was he wanted to use momentum to get up the hill, but problem with that is there were still vehicles coming down also. He didn’t have chains either. So I was wondering if that was the same guy who might if spent the night as that hill was icy slippery. Be prepared when going out in the snow.

I've always figured you folks run tight, nose to tail, on the trail for filming. I'm kinda surprised you were still doing it after having traction issues. I'm more in the leave plenty of following distance so you're not eating dust, the vehicle ahead won't slide back into you, and you can have more reaction time if something happens up ahead. imho, You're also in the range of experience where complacency in a field can creep in. Far from a Rookie, confident and knowledgeable because you've always been able to handle whatever's come up. Thanks for sharing the trip, and wishing you and your family all the best in '22.

@@conner7595 Conner in California the mountains produce what we call Sierra Cement. Our daytime temps can be above freezing and adds moisture content making it difficult to gain traction. Case and point is when a all wheel SUV pulls over and hits the cement they soon need a rescue. Skiers love Colorado snow and frown upon Sierra Cement.
@bwofficial17762 жыл бұрын
Short wheelbase Jeeps are donut machines in the snow. My CJ is almost undrivable in the snow in 2wd because the back wheels have so much traction and the wheelbase is so short, all the back end wants to do is push around to the front. Switching from 4x2 to 4x4 and back involves stopping and reversing to unload the transfer case, so because I can't switch into 4x2 when I hit pavement I had to drive in 4x2 everywhere unless it was snowing hard. I don't drive it in the snow anymore because I don't want it to get any rustier, I drive a beater Taurus wagon that's surprisingly good.

Was just wondering if you guys had an special “tricks” or advise for getting the undercarriage/ frame cleaned after “ mudding”. Oh, and I hope you seriously appreciate your awesome wife for enjoying going off-road with you and wanting to drive her own vehicle!! Any tips from anyone would be appreciated. My 2106 Hard Rock Rubicon was spotless underneath when I bought it used from a dealership in 2019.
@conner75952 жыл бұрын
Not an from someone who offroads, so take with a grain of salt. However if you own a pressure washer you can get what’s called an undercarriage wash. If you simply look that up you will find tons of products, but they simply attach to the pressure washer and you can roll it in and out from under your vehicle. The washer will spray straight up and blast off all the mud/dirt on the undercarriage.
