New subscriber, really great 'travelogue' video posts. We get a real sense of the actuality of immersing ourselves in the cultures. I've traveled in North Africa and it's much more interesting when one ventures outside the regular 'tourist' paths. Also worthy of note, (I'm native Irish Republic...) 99% of locals have no issue whatever with 'Western' people, indeed, they seem to find us as fascinating as we find them, once proper manners are observed, (respectful behaviour, modest clothing worn etc...) The 'nervousness' around the use of cameras by some is for a few reasons. The most obvious is the security issue but also (as with your pet-shop owner...) often such business operate in a 'grey area' when it comes to local laws and are nervous about being recorded. There is too the fact that some people just see that taking video with asking for (and paying for...) specific permission is considered impolite. Really great channel. Safe traveling to you, Doug. xx SF (Eire)

Hi Doug. The vervet monkeys are everywhere in forests in Sudan. I guess there are hundreds if not thousands wild ones in Khartoum near the Blue Nile and in Gezira, Gedaref and Blue Nile provinces and in Western Sudan. You can see some in Khartoum near Nile Street near around University of Khartium gardens roaming wild. The trader mentioning Dinder National Park is hussling higher price presuming you are a genuine buyer. In Dinder you can find larger baboons and big cats like lions and cheetahs and the place is protected by specialist armed wardens, no one is allowed to catch animals there!
