There was once a 911 call from a car shuttling down the freeway where the brakes stopped working and the operator asked him to use the emergency brake. The dude wouldn't budge thinking the car will roll over.... However, it seems that when push comes to shove it can be used that way. Still just hearing about makes me scared.

I was lucky enough to have a couch surfing host when I was there in Khartoum! Sudanese culture is great to experience. How’s the oil situation there now? There was an oil crisis when I was travelling and all the bus companies went on strike. Not easy travelling lol but makes great memories

Hey Doug, super late to this but next time you visit Sudan try to check out Kerma, it’s in the north near egypt and there’s a museum there. There’s also pyramids, and incredible farms with camels, cows, exotic bird.
