I appreciate Sal's input in this video, he is indispensable in untangling things like this. Once again we are asking our military to step into a mess they are skilled at handling, but do so under unrealistic conditions ad restraints, not the least of which is the huge unknown of the plans of the people who would love to kill our people, destroy our property, and humiliate us...the risk is enormous. The Naval Reserve Fleet has a LASH barge carrier, the Cape May, which would be well suited to quickly deliver aid to Gaza. It can offload barges which only have a draft of eight feet. This would be an interim or supplemental solution while the Trident pier system is constructed. This does not require all of the intermediate steps that Sal discussed in the video. Lower the fully loaded barge into the water, and tow it directly to the beach. No infrastructure needed at the end, except for a small floating crane.

It would take time but Marine Corps Engineers have “Bridge Barges” that are reminiscent of the floating bridges of WW2. The hard part is mobilizing the equipment to the area. Too bad we don’t have prepositioned equipment somewhere in the Med. I think this will be rectified in the future, if the ben counters and politicians dont get involved. Great piece Sir/Sal

I can see the Tshirt that comes out of this. A drawing of a storm tossed small boat (ship) on a tempestuous sea with the title "BarfEx 2024" It won't be a nice ride across the Atlantic. I liked the comment they are only twice as long as one of Columbus ships. That crossing isn't without risk. Wow! I hope the efforts will have the desired effect but the risk of going into harms way is ever present!!!!!

This respect goes with one experience this jarhead endured when leaving GITMO to Morehead City, via USS Wakeegan(sp) County 1162 esp movies on deck in an inch of mist were appreciated.(4 mos earlier flew to GITMO on a Herc)

By the time they get there Israel will have entered Rafah in which case they wiuld be deploying the pier to a likely Israeli held beach. Makes sense as the US gets the optics of directly aiding Gaza, and it still has to go through Israeli Forces, as it should with how much I trust the CIA these days. No US servicemembers may not set foot there but there alot of Americans who do not meet that criteria.

"Consider the Cost" is an important principle that rarely occurs in the thought processes of those who govern this Nation. I over 70 years old, and it sickens me that Washington politicians and their "pals" in the MIC (Military Industrial Complex) have gotten us involved in one military conflict after another since the Korean War with no definition of victory and at great cost, both economically and, more importantly in lives shattered or lost. It's called the Department of Defense but a more proper name, as it formerly was, is the Department of WAR. How many of these seemingly endless conflicts would the U. S. be involved in if a percentage of fat cat politicians, or their grown children, were required to fight in all these wars? There is an ongoing invasion of the U.S. from Mexico, but corrupt and incompetent politicians and bureaucrats ignore that while involving us in conflicts thousands of miles away. As my mom used to say, "Shame on them".

this mission as described just sounds like an impending disaster, can't do it with out security on the ground, and adequate defense for the construction, operation, and nearby vessels.
@topgunaircraftsales440810 ай бұрын
Excellent review of the physical engineering and political issues of this proposed Humanitarian effort by the Administration. As a Marine IMHO the issue of Security will be a dangerous threat to the mission and specifically the Navy and Army personnel exposed to Millions of Starving residents and Hamas Terrorists. Like Beirut in the 80's we will also have to deal with conflicting aggressive attitudes of local Israeli Military commanders and Hamas extremists. The recent debacle in the last days of our War in Afghanistan is a stark example of attempting to control a local population in panic with little to no security. I for one am fed up with Politicians placing our Military personnel in serious harms way for the appearance of warm and fuzzy media image or political talking point without also protecting them with our overwhelming military capabilities to discourage those who would take the opportunity to attack and destroy them.

Ward, why no acoustical guitars? Electric guitars can hide so many mistakes with all of it's electronics. But an acoustical guitar can only be played correctly without mistakes. But to the point of the video. I don't see any accountability in delivering aid by air, ground, or by sea. I served 2 years in Latin America as a Marine LtCol supporting the host nation's counter-insurgency efforts. But I was also tasked with collecting open source intelligence on the military, economic, social, political, and US aid provided by USAID and the US military. I was at the time one of the 4 military attaches with diplomatic immunity and the ability to travel freely around the country as long as I notified the host nation of my visits. To make a long story shorter, the big problems in that country was how corrupt the government and military were. But in my opinion the biggest problems was the lack of accountability of how US aid and the military aid were spent / distributed. The Embassy had some control, but most of the US funding went to the host nation government and what they did with it remains a mystery. In my opinion, every dollar of US aid to a country should be accounted for by a US auditor. Otherwise our tax dollars are going to fuel host nation corruption and isn't helping the people or the military. It would boggle your brain to know how much of our aid to foreign countries have no accountability and simply goes into a black hole with metric for results.

The Middle East has been at war for centuries, which will never change. America is going broke, more and more homeless on the streets, and crime is on the rise, and yet we still keep spending money on other countries' problems instead of taking care of all the problems we have right here at home first. How can you be telling other countries what to do when our own country is so messed up and on the verge of bankruptcy.

Zionism is a joint British/American/Yiddish land grab. The Templars failed to hold Jerusalem, so they created America to do it for them, using the people who call themselves Jews to smoke out the locals.
