Prayers to your family. I just went through a similar situation with my mother in February-March. Paid mom a visit, two days later brought he to the ER. A week in the hospital spending 14-18 hours with her everyday. Mom was inoperable. Brought her back to her home instead of assisted living. With COVID I would not have been able to visit her. So with mom on hospice I moved in with her and was with her when she passed. My moms last words to me were “ Hold my hand”.

@Mark Hepworth As someone that works in hospitals, I agree but time and a place man. It's like if someone came to your dad's funeral and began just starting political drama with people for no reason. Even with good benefits and insurance, if hospitals are understaffed they're not bending over backwards to help a patient in hospice when there are other patients coding or if they're spiraling. Even the best long term care facility will have patients stewing in their own poop for hours because they only have like 2 aides for the whole facility and a handful of nurses for over 100 patients. Employers know this is borderline criminal and that understaffing floors will reduce quality of care and in turn may harm many patients but they don't care because it saves money and adds to profit margin. The fact that hospitals refuse to give out like a measly 2% raise that actually is a decrease in pay if calculating inflation but will pay nearly 5x as much for travel contracts kinda shows how broken the system is (and why nurses are all quitting for travel contracts) While healthcare for all will absolutely help many people who cannot afford insurance, premium insurance will always be better for an individual if they can afford it and it doesn't magically solve all the problems people think it will.

Man. Don’t lose hope. During the last year and a half you and your videos gave me joy and laughs and knowledge like no other. You are one of my personal heroes. Be bold to change what you can. Be patient to bear what you can’t change and be wise to learn the difference between the former. All is positive energy for you and your projects from Tokyo Japan 🇯🇵

It's normal to be alone. Unfortunately society has made that notion foreign to us.

I work in the medical field and understand how hard that must be to go through for you. Sometimes we all need to get away for a bit and heal ourselves, so we can better help those who need us. Thanks for sharing Matts.

Great advice. I feel that not showing more love or saying "I love you" everyday to my mother is what I regret in my life and I will live with it until I meet her again. That wont change. I feel your pain, I hope for a better situation for you. I hope you learn how to live with what you're left. Good or bad. We can only learn to live with what we get. Peace and love my friend.

Been there bro. My mom had a slow progressing cancer and she was around a few years with it. But we went through those few years knowing she was going to pass, there was no stopping the progression through her body. So, i feel you.

You've got all of our support my guy. I hope your adventures provide you some extra peace and comfort during all of this. You encourage my brother and I to get outdoors and fish together and thats something I'll never get to shake your hand for but the least I can do is send up prayers and good vibes for you and your fam. All the best dude, love to see you back doing what you love.

I remember meeting you, your wife, and Daniel at Outdoor Pro Shop! I was carrying my one year old son at the time. Time sure flies! I hope that the trip and the time away helped you feel better. Stay up bro and great tip on leaving nothing unsaid. We just don’t know how much time we all have on this earth. 🙏

Same thing happen to my mother. Found out in 2008. She passed Dec 2nd 2021. She fought like hell. Something told me to watch this video. Brought out a tear. Stay strong. Keep your head up brother. Been a fan for a few years now. Keep moving forward. Shout out your wife for giving you time alone to be with your thoughts. I know it helps.
