@Axlerod Horowitz I ask the same questions about my GF. $100 food a week, 1 trip to the salon every 2 weeks, gas money she uses to go to school and shopping, and we share an apartment. I think fishing is cheaper.

You mentioned global viewers, I'm in Scotland and the rock fishing methods aren't that different. To be honest I hadn't tried swim baits until watching your channel. Now I've paddle tails galore. My favourite just now are bulb tail soft baits in, believe it or not shocking pink with sparkles. Sounds mad but we fish for Pollack which seem to go mad for them. New content wise, why not do a road trip round the States with your boat? That's be fun

Appreciate you taking beginners out and teaching them the joys of fishing! In Australia a nice trick when you get stung by a fish’s spine you can stop the bleed by rubbing your small cut on the fish’s belly. The fish slim stops the bleeding. Hope it works the same for fish stings in the US!

Dude I think once in a while you should find a dad and son that want to learn how to fish and take them fishing. For surf perch for rockfish. Crabbing. Help them learn. That would be one of the best videos you could ever do. We totally enjoy watching you catch stuff and living vicariously through your fishing. But brighting the horizons of sun some young man and father. Well that's a higher level. Maybe have a contest. Maybe have a suggestion referral from us viewers. Because we all know somebody who probably needs to learn how to fish. I promise you from personal experience at helping kids is worth every minute you invest. Teaching them how to cook also very rewarding. You could help in the PlayStation generation one person at a time. Save their lives and give them a future. Best luck in as always your videos are awesome. I personally would like to see you go up to the Columbia gorge and catch a 9 or 12-ft sturgeon. Maybe just a bucket list fish. But there's walleyes and other fish up there worth catching.

Side note btw, you didn't mention snap jigging with casting spoons like that, more of a fresh water method but I'm sure it would be just as good in the bay area type setting. Got a few of these jigs (at least one in every color) and went out of Charleston Oregon today to try them out. Shrimp flies weren’t working and decided to try out the chrome flash 30g jig in about 50 feet of water, FISH ON!! Quickly got our limits of rockfish (really good sized ones once we switched to these) and back to the marina before it got rough. Didn’t have to change the one chrome jig I put on there. Next time I’m in our two local bait shops I’m definitely recommending they get some, I bet fisherman around here would love these. 🎣

We fish jigs (including slow pitch jigs) all the time in Alaska. Rockfish, lingcod and halibut are all jig eaters. That said, most of our fishing is done from a boat in 100- 250’ of water over and around rock structure, so we use heavier 160-300gr jigs to get to the bottom quicker given the tidal currents. You’re spot on that jigs are effective baits for the structure based fish. For what it’s worth, we’ve also had success with them trolled for salmon. Love your tackle entrepreneur mindset. 👍

@Fisherman's Life - hey Matt, have the same daiwa NC rod. FYI - always check top guide to make sure braid did not cut trough the metal. Had it happened to me with a 20lb braid. This particular model should have titanium oxide ring guides, but somehow mine was of some lower grade. Daiwa did warranty and replaced it, but I managed to lose couple of rigs due to braid getting cut. Just make sure to check once in a while :)

Calif has new RCG complex rules . Limit is 10 but the former sub limits on blues, blacks and cabezon changed. Blues and blacks limit is 10 of either species or 10 in combination. You could take 10 blues or 10 blacks or a mix but not more than 10 With Cabezon limit is up to 10 with same 15 inches minimum. You could take 10 cabezon as your limit or mix up to 10 within your RCG complex Vermillion rockfish (LIMIT IS NOW 5) as part of your RCG complex of 10 Lure wise! great idea!!! 90% of tackle is made by anglers as we develop gear we need

I am into making my own lures also. I love watching all the different you tube fishing channels from all around the world so I can find different lure ideas to me, that work great elsewhere but are common place and usage there but not around here. I think how you use different gear there for salt water salmon can be incorporated in the great lakes landlocked salmon here. The steelhead there should react to similar styles of bait here. There are big difference in salmon gear in fresh water great lakes and is tried and true here as compared to what you use. Keep on fishing and tight lines!
