When the album came out, I was in high school, when they went on tour me and my buddies all got tickets. Right before the show I got caught with weed by my parents, and my father said no concert. I told him I was going, and he said "Go ahead, but when you get home the door will be locked, and you ain't coming in." I was soo bummed that I missed that show, but I heard all about it from my buddies.

This album came out when the classic mark 2 lineup of the band reformed. Gillan, Blackmore, Glover, Lord and Paice. I saw them in 1985 when they headlined the Knebworth Festival n the U.K. supported by The Scorpions, UFO, Blackfoot, Meatloaf, Mama’s Boys, Mountain and Alaska.

The first time I heard this I almost got into an accident while driving from the 3rd lick into the guitar solo.

Deep Purple is still rocking. From this video, Ian Paice (drums), Ian Gillan (vocals) and Roger Glover (bass) are still going strong. The keyboard player Jon Lord retired in 2002 and passed away in 2012. Don Airey has been on keyboards since 2002. And Simon McBride has been their latest guitar player since late 2022.

Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, one of the most influential guitarists in history, married a woman half his age, went crazy, and now mostly plays renaissance festival music in their band Blackmore's Night

The funniest is when a DJ figured out the lyrics and asked Ian if it was what he guessed.

Yeah, I'd say it was sexual. And when they did this it was the height of videos and they weren't into making videos but that's how it got on MTV when they did music videos. Peace

Well yes it s the original studio version with a video ! always love their sound great guitar ! great keyboard sounds ! Hammond B3 always there but no major solo on this one but great keyboard intro ! Last time i saw them was around 1998 or 99 not sure but it was at the Bell center in Montreal and they were the second half of the show ! The first half was Emerson Lake and Palmer ! lol ! 😎

This song is 100% sexual. The label made them change several of the sexual phrases for the lyrics in the liner notes. "..to get into her pants" was changed to "...pantry" and "cunnilingus" (oral sex) was changed to "cunning linguist." It's the only song that I have ever heard that an ode to anal sex. Ian Guillen has such a dirty mind. I was surprised that there's only 14 comments on such a good song. TWO guitar solos with the closing solo being one of Blackmore's greatest. Unfortunately, the video faded it out with 30-45 more seconds to go. This album was a reunion of the classic lineup. Most reunion albums aren't successful but this one was. Again, Blackmore's TWO solos are some of his BEST, imo, but since there's only 14 comments maybe few agree. Also, there's more than the usual couple of songs that are good on this album, specifically "Perfect Strangers" and "Gypsy's Kiss." John, I do recommend that you listen to "...Back Door's" solos and being a guitarist yourself, you might discover the incredible-ness of Ritchie's work here. There's reasons why he's a guitar legend, with this song being a great example.
