В юности тоже считал это почти гениальным. С годами же пришло осознание, что бунтарско-новаторский дух молодых просто хочет иметь что-то своё, отличное от предпочтений предков. И это своё зачастую полная ерунда. Да, кое-что у Deep Purple можно отнести к отличной музыке (10%), но остальное так себе. Современной молодёжи нравится уже другое. И тоже в массе своей полная фигня.

I was still in the process of being conceived in 1970😊 but started to appreciate Deep Purple in the 80's-90's and saw them live finally at the House of Blues 💙💜in West Hollywood in the late 90's and this is always fun when you can go back in the time machine and see new old footage of vintage bands. 🎤👌🎸🎹

11 year old me watched a bit of this performance when it briefly showed up in the Heavy Metal Pioneers documentary. When I saw Ritchie Blackmore go from classically trained guitar guy to feral maniac, it made me feel that this was an instrument worth playing. Now that I'm older I've seen faaaar better examples of his playing but watching this made me want to be a musician when I grew up and I'm pleased to say that has come true. What I learned from Deep Purple is that its possible to have a balance of that rock energy and showmanship as well as an insane technical knowledge of what it is you're playing. So thanks for that, Ritchie. 😊

Like some of the commentee's on this page I've only recently "Discovered" Ritchie Blackmore and Deep Purple. Got the leisure time now unlike years ago!! I was under the illusion that Hendrix was the best but had to re evaluate everything.. Heard the Deep Purple cover of Hey Joe and Ritchie's Guitar work in that makes Jimi's version almost mundane. The Solo is master class nothing less, encaptulating the lyrics of the song superbly. He makes the guitar scream with despair. I heard that and went looking for more. Rainbow also.. "Kill the King" again superb musicianship.. For a few seconds Ritchie makes the guitar sound like enraged bee's and the sync with the keyboard player in Rainbow is faultless. Long Live Ritchie Blackmore!!
