RIP to the late, great Ronnie James Dio. Viv Campbell was only 21-22 during this performance! His chops were only going to get stronger from here. Incredible.
@michaelnicholas241727 күн бұрын
And yet, he went downhill by playing with Whitesnake and currently, Def Leppard(as guitar player #2). Sure, he moved up the ladder financially, but sacrificed his platform to expose his chops. I guess at the age of 25, he was tired of being a guitar hero, and rather play the second guitar line to Pour Some Sugar On Me. Sad.

I agree. The original band was incredible. Although, I have always wished that they had a second guitar player. Things got pretty thin and empty during solos. Or at least they could have turned the keyboards up a little bit.

Recorded directly off of the soundboard. These recordings tend to be a little dry. But because this band is so tight and Ronnie James Dio is such a phenomenal singer, it sounds great. I got to see DIO December 31st, 1985 in Seattle. Yngvie Malmsteen and TKO opened.

A raw, authentic, and visceral sound. An intense energy and a unique spark from someone who truly knows how to show what they're made of. Sadly, young people today have no idea what that even is. The world we live in now is disposable and deceptive. We're trapped in a culture of the fleeting and superficial. Watch this performance and indulge in the purest, most genuine rock 'n' roll!
