I am glad to hear this about Gillian because I find him intelligent and graceful in his interviews and would have been disappointed to hear the opposite. As for Steve he literally seems to irradiate positive energy in every clip I have seen of him..quite a change of pace from Blackmoore sardonic attitude (although most often it is a dark sense of humour).It must be great to know Steve personally.I fell in love with his guitar playing with Purple and purchased a SMY2 model thanks for this info :)

@TheMacmurdo That is great! I imagine him to be a great guy from all the interviews I have heard. There does remain that enigmatic and apparently derogatory comment made in Japan during the Made in Japan album but maybe it wasn't him. Anyway thanks for your feedback and long live the creative genius and immense talent of Deep Purple:)

Yeah you're right! But he did do some Rainbow stuff with Ritchie Blackmore. And, as much as I love Rainboy, I actually love Deep Purple even more! Especially, their older music when all of the originals were together. I like 'em with Steve, but there's nothing like the originals!

@turockandar Stood next to him at the bar a few times back in the Gillan band days, he was always freindly and down to earth, Top Man!, can't say i know him personally but he is very amiable and would certainly talk to anyone...big Blackmore fan but have heard he's not as approachable.

@TheMacmurdo Do you actually know him personally? I have has the good fortune of getting to know a number of world famous musicians through my work such as Peter Gabriel, Sting, Tracey Chapman, Bruce Springsteen, Rachel Z, Steve Hacket, Lenny White, Keith Richards (just to buy a guitar from him and have him sign it), Rodney Holmes, Jim Wieder etc... but it would blow my mind to be able to speak to Gillian , Morse or of course the legendary Blackmore..even if he is not reputed very amiable:(

Purple had a great back catalogue that they could never play live because Blackmore didn't like most of it. This version sounds more like the version that Gillan played in his solo act with Steve Morris on guitar. I like the bluesy simplicity of the original personally.
@julienlepilote11 жыл бұрын
Steve Morris? his name is Steve Morse ^^
@AnthonyEmery197011 жыл бұрын
julienlepilote Actually Steve Morris and Steve Morse are 2 separate people. Strange as it may seem! Morse is in this video, but Morris was in the Gillan band in 1990-92 and appeared on 2 albums and live stuff. He was also in the concerto gig in 1999 at Royal Albert Hall.
