I’ve never done any match fishing but watching how tiny changes can massively improve catch rate has made me think twice. Another awesome vid keep it up.

I've been fishing a tapered pattern for years and it's does catch loads. I first used it on the grand Union canal in Loughborough on the at soar valley winter league on 0.3 and 0.6 rigs. Well done I enjoyed the video

Lads, great video. I totally agree about bonus of going past feed. But you never talked about the sides. Was that deliberate? I have caught fish doing this but always feels weird.

Great video, the deep water reservoir I fish is 18ft deep. I would normally go for the bulk and droppers, is there a rig similar to the second rig but would get down faster. many thanks RichT

I fish a winter league where we are fishing in twelve to fifteen feet of water. What size rig would you be using for the strung out rig?

Love how everyone so far has avoided the cob, bread cake argument 😂😂😂😂

Just watched this again. When fishing just past bait, do you try short, left and right of feed? Or is it (always past)?
@WinningWays2 жыл бұрын
Generally past it, as they always back away from the pressure, especially the bigger fish. But left and right can come into play with the tow and wind like we go on about in the 'Fishing in the wind' video :)
@dt1607 Жыл бұрын
Backing off depends on which direction the fish come from, I think? But I get what you mean, Thanks

@stephengrange53002 жыл бұрын
noticed that most vids are when its smooth water which is great for showing the bites but matches where i fish are 24ft deep and choppy, have you done any vids with this type of water?
@WinningWays2 жыл бұрын
Not really as its basically impossible to film in when its proper bad.
@philbeardsmore47062 жыл бұрын
Hi lads, why don’t you use squats in your groundbait when fishing for roach and skimmers?
@WinningWays2 жыл бұрын
No real need to go that negative on venues like this with plenty of fish in.
@stephengrange53002 жыл бұрын
couldnt see how jamies rig was shot , was shot used or stotz ? how far apart were they? were they only the bottom half of the depth of line? needs more close ups or explained while showing. great vid as usual
@WinningWays2 жыл бұрын
If only we'd done a specific video looking at both rigs in detail... Oh wait - We did :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJepnHiCgt1_iZo

Could you use the tapered bulk in shallower water, Instead of just having a standard spread bulk?
@WinningWays2 жыл бұрын
Ye just a case of adjusting the spacing to suit the depth you’re fishing 👍🏻
@neilmilner70742 жыл бұрын
Andy using Daiwa reels in the Christmas challenge upload and Jamie obviously feels the same as me and others regarding the crap Matrix seat cushions, that compress badly and go out of shape and saggy in no time at all, given he's sat on a custom made seat cushion. It's interesting how many Top Anglers use Daiwa reels in matches and not the sponsor brand models. Lee Kerry I've seen using Daiwa Castizm models in matches aswell, not the Preston one's he plugs on line in Preston videos😉👌
@brianwelbourne98962 жыл бұрын
I see you didn’t,t want to loose feed but could you just put a small pot on the pole and cup some wetted pinkies/maggots in just to top up?
@carljones37002 жыл бұрын
How many top kits do you both have for your poles lads or do you change elastic for summer and winter fishing.
@WinningWays2 жыл бұрын
Quite a few due to fishing so many different venues and having to have it ready for both matches and filming/magazine features. But rotating elastics through winter and summer, especially if you are fishing the same venues regularly is a great way to save having so many top kits 👍🏻
