Why do we humans want to make robots & clones with AI when we ourselves are a better version with so many possibilities of further refining ourselves! We are downgrading rather than upgrading with the use of AI relative to consciousness. If we look back in our history of the Yugas, I think we r slowly downgrading our capabilities, sensibilities & intelligence! It's the evolution theory in reverse, ending in living like animals& not by an evolved consciousness! 🙏

Rajivji, when Deepak Chopraji says let those big AI companies go their way, for your pointed question of losing agency and dystopia, his answer is a bit concerning. In the sense, if those people with huge money power are to have it their way, then destruction of human agency is inevitable, as Deepak Chopraji himself is saying. Pressure needs to be put by the governments and common people so that these rich AI tech companies cannot just have it their way. Money and material gains should never be allowed take away our agency.

I think the whole discussion is futile. Science and technology advances, is a credit to Human brain and it will always remain superior. The final answers about Atman and Brahman can not be given by science. In spite of great strides in science, Man is condemned to look at his own face only as a reflected image or a photo. Nope AI and sentience are two different topics. Sure AI might be infinitely smarter in decision making but is it sentient?. Nope and can never be. Reason why we feel sentient is due to the mind reflecting consciousness or the chidābāsa. This mind is attached to a brain and the brain to a body via a nervous system. This chidābāsa flows like a water down from mind to the brain and it's attached components. So we feel sentient. Does AI have a sukshma sharira that can reflect consciousness?. Nope. Can never happen since vedanta shows that from the subtle the gross emerges and not the other way round. AI cannot manifest a mind. At best can mimic sentience.

Consciousness has a form and has an attention, irrespective of the transient form the consciousness experiences temporarily. We are not conscious beings ourselves, however we are in consciousness i.e. Jeevatma in paramatma.. Instead of fighting on your tube one should sit and meditate and enquire with self to get answers. According to these veterans, the bat consciousness is same as human consciousness, it is similar but not same. I.e. the Bat intrinsically know the moon is white and is beautiful but experiences moon based on its nervous system. this is how the bat consciousness evolves to the next level of life and become human after certain amount of breaths. FYI , Both Bats and Human consciousness does not change the reality of Moon, The moon physically exists in the sky weather we see it or not.
