I genuinely started to tear up towards the end. This album was my teenhood. I remember the day Aura leaked, Applause then Swine… Even Venus I believe. I was lucky enough to go to Swinefest & it’s one of the best shows I’ve ever been to, including her big arena shows. It was the last time I remember feeling so close to Gaga, after ARTPOP, she wasn’t the same, and I don’t blame her. The fans, the media, her own management…. ARTPOP FOREVER

@melpot4296 I believe what the original comment says, but I don't believe that vomiting is the answer. If Gaga had just said she had a horrific experience, that would have touched the hearts of more people who were in the same position. That would have helped many. Instead, the conversation was about vomit. Opportunity missed.
@DearxMyxSongs Жыл бұрын
@@BombshElle_7yes and no, it was very much a metaphor and that time of pop culture was about pushing the boundaries right past the limit, literally everyone was doing insane things, Gaga’s just really good at selecting the ones that’ll garner the biggest reactions. But coming forward about SA in a pre-MeToo world, that was a death sentence, and given that she is Gaga, how sexual her work was viewed already, they would’ve said, “look how you dress/perform, what did you expect? You were asking for it. Honestly surprised it took this long for someone to do so,” 10000%. And I know this because they said this about other, less “controversial” women coming forward about their SA experiences. Or they’d say you’re lying or exaggerating or it’s just part of the business. Most of her fans might’ve stood by her but the industry side wouldn’t have. So while I found the v**** artist to give a visceral reaction (also, that’s incredibly unhealthy, I hope her teeth and esophagus are okay today), it did exactly what it was intended to do because we’re STILL talking about it a decade later.

I even met her during the tour. Still such a surreal experience to me. It truly feels like she has never been the same since. One could hardly blame her for the hell the media put her through during that time. This album will always be so special to me. I even got a matching tattoo on my left wrist just like she has for the first anniversary in 2014. ARTPOP forever.

@TheKingCoaster8 ай бұрын
@@tryingnot2bdumbi agree with them and I can explain, i don’t know if I’ll speak for everyone but from my point of view it was like this : I was a fan of lady Gaga not only because she was eccentric and a really good artist, it was the art behind the songs … I couldn’t explain it very well but when a gaga song dropped and you listened to it it had a meaning, with the video clip it had even more depth and once she spoke about her art, you would be proved wrong or right and it was ALWAYS such a statement I mean just look at Born this way / You and I / Judas / and Alejandro on my god, this one was really special … etc … Some of her song were just pure art and it’s why it’s hard to explain because Gaga is her art, a living canvas and to me she lost her edge / her it factor but not totally I would say …Chromatica surprised me quite a bit especially with Babylon it was a fresh album but still missing the « old » lady Gaga vibe that I think she might have left behind because it might have been the hardest thing to keep up, to out do yourself every time, to satisfy a fan base that can be really hard on her sometimes even with all the love, but the hate from the press and the people who don’t get what taking a risk means… You know they would bash her for days and she was really the target EVERYONE loved to talk about and disrespect because it was her, and specifically her because it was fun to « not get it » to them. In short she’s still our lady Gaga but we look at her old era like a diamond because at THAT specific time she did what no one would even DARE to do and today it’s like « who will be the most trashy for the art of it » but not successfully doing it … Only Tyler The Creator to me has that Gaga vibe today, and I’m not even a fan of him but you must admit he’s dedicated to his art ! Hope that made some sense :’D

This was great but there’s a few things that were a bit off. Gaga was millions in debt for the first run of the Monster Ball because she was supposed to have teamed up with Kanye West to help alleviate the cost. That didn’t work out, but she made it back with enough money to revamp the tour. That wasn’t the creator of Minecraft in G.U.Y., he was a content creator that Gaga found after a Minecraft parody of Applause was uploaded. Lastly, DJWS deleted his post and had to clarify under a gay news site article (GayTimes) that he wasn’t making a statement about the second act’s future, but was not wanting to talk solely about ARTPOP. Well done. Been sick, so long videos are helping me stay distracted. I always had love for this album, but was aware of how sloppy it was. But I wasn’t aware of her personal struggles until I got older; so this project means something different now.

When the album came out, I was 16 and I didn’t understand it. But now, as a 26 year old artist… I understand it now. And I appreciate it so much.

ARTPOP is completely misunderstood in it's time, it's chaotic, a war of everyone, a party, a drug, an experiment at is finest and a pain. If ARTPOP ACT 2 is set to be released (even tho djws didn't want to talk about it anymore) it needs to be loved, respect and make it feel that it's understood from the first day. JUSTICE FOR ARTPOP 🔵✨

It’s crazy reading these comments and seeing everyone praise this album, because when it first came out and years after, all I ever saw was people talking shit about it and how terrible of an album it is. I was a huge Gaga fan before and after this album, I always felt bad for how this era played out for her and I still listen to artpop to this day! I wish we could go back in time and fix it so the album could play out exactly how she wanted it to (with the exception of DWYW and Terry.) cuz she most definitely has not been the same since this album. But then again, she probably needed this experience to open her eyes to how things were playing out in her life and humble her a bit.

I think it goes to show that 1) media controls the narrative 2) sheep will follow the herd even if they're secretly rockin' out to the song in their bedroom :p 3) that the most outspoken are the haters. Several million haters sounds like a lot until you realize just how many hundreds of millions of fans she has. I don't think I knew a single person who didn't adore the album, Miley Cyrus on the other hand... 😅

I watched this so many times and I just wanna cry. So many little monsters stood by this album and This does give me hope for ACT 2. I really hope she worked with DJWS secretly to do the touchups for the second act. I’m sitting at the edge of my seat for this piece of art that never really got its recognition it really deserved.

I felt emotional when I saw DJ White Shadow's post at the very end of the video... It's just some text on a colourful background but it feels like the door of a vault sealing forever, and the vault is full of potential, ambitions, hardship, tears, and broken dreams... But I feel like the Artpop album itself, what was released, escaped the vault just before the doors shut. Because in recent years so many people, including myself, have given it a second chance into their hearts and started to appreciate it for the cultural moment it was. So now there is some justice for their work on it, and thankfully Gaga made it through and has had 4 number one albums since.

Artpop is so important to me, It came out while I was still struggling with my own sexuality, I was 12/13 years old, I used to be a "huge little monster" but I stopped due to religion stuff, my mom infecting my brain with catholic bs for years, all of that was ERASED when I saw Gaga performing Applause during the VMAs, I got so obsessed about it that it reconverted me into being gay, it truly set me free, y'all ARTPOP ERA saved my life
