I’d add Brewer, Jonnu, Paul, and maybe Brooks to the list of core players, so team does have foundation to build on. I know Paul’s run blocking is inconsistent but he needs reps, because he probably didn’t do much outside zone run blocking at Houston.
@WGB301921 күн бұрын
I agree. Paul can be better than Terron, if he can improve his run blocking, I think. Brewer, Jackson and Paul are OL cornerstones. Need 2-3 backup tackles, 1 FA Guard and 1 draft Guard/Center (something like that). We have 1 decent backup tackle on IR (Kion), but Terron and Lamm will be gone. We also need a draft DT, at least 1 draft Safety, 1 draft CB, and 1 draft WR or a GOOD FA WR. 1 draft MLB as well. Terron, Lamm, Poyer, Campbell (?) should retire. Tyreek should be released, post June 1 cut. Don’t know about Holland. I’d re-up Dodson, but let Walker go. Cam Smith has 1 more year - but he might be cut at end of training camp - not sturdy and not developing. I’d let Tindall and Duke Riley go. I might try to trade Chubb and definitely Barrett. Some of the others - see what they do before training camp.
@TyBless21 күн бұрын
Always remember the NFL mandated the Tua IR stint, or he would have otherwise played earlier than missing all of 5 games. It would've made a huge difference in so many outcomes within the numbers of this season, as well as our playoff standing. Grier will get another year, because after 25, this team will need to be blown up regardless. Then if there's a change to be made, everybody goes at the same time.. Grier, Miami Mike, and Tua.
@johnnygonzalez134421 күн бұрын
DDW, there needs to be an asterisk next to that "Tua leads the league in completion %" stat you just stated. He also leads the league in most passes behind the line of scrimmage (25%) and the Dolphins are dead last in average yards per pass attempt at 5.7. It is much easier to complete short passes behind the line of scrimmage then downfield. That completion percentage stat of his is inflated.
@MartyDavis-g1t21 күн бұрын
That is true but it works and it’s hard to go deep when your o line can’t block long enough and McDaniel does to many screens

If we fix the Offensive line and get rid of these 3rd string guys that we're starting and fix the issues in the secondary (no one can tackle), this team actually might be a pretty tough team. @philjones499521 күн бұрын
Where ever we end up in draft picks, I think we should trade out of the first round. There is no ONE player that is going to fix things. Top Guards and centers are available in late 2nd and beyond. I would rather have 2 top IOL than one top skill position player.
@WGB301921 күн бұрын
We’ll see. That’s kind of a Grier mentality. Guards aren’t usually a 1st round investment - BUT a Tackle might be - 1 that you can plug in at Guard first year. I think we’ll need 1 WR but I’d like 1 with a bit of length and SOME speed. But there might be a FA or 2 available. We’ll see. There are a lot of needs. I doubt we keep Wynn, but he’s not expensive. He’d be a terrific Guard/Tackle option, but he’s a starter talent. He would be good to start the season and let a rookie spell him and learn.
