When I was young, I really thought that the USA would be on Mars by now---- that US citizens would enjoy a 20 hour work week, there would be few, or no homeless poor people, and we would be driving flying cars in the 21rst century. Instead, little has changed except there are more billionaires in the USA, more poor people than ever before, and a middle class that has declined to practically nothing. I think you nailed it Cyrus, I did mention this in my Webinar about the fact that so Many AI systems and Models come From Asia, not to mention 90% of the AI chips are produced in Taiwan and Mainland Chinese manufacturers produced most of the cloud/data center servers OEM private labeled and 50% of the AI algorithm designs comes from software engineers originally from NE/SE Asia. It’s really a Sputnik moment and hope Americans realize the semiconductor supply chain is just too complex without the added techno-nationalism and protectionism! To be honest both China and the USA are practicing an intense competition, Where I do think the USA has done well in convincing TSMC to setup manufacturing in Phoenix! I just asked DeepSeek about their fire prevention strategies in China and almost wept, it's so comprehensive and practical. Americans love to pretend China is so oppressive because, what, because they make municipal leaders accountable for meeting the requirements for a safer, saner way of managing local systems for the benefit of all?
