You had me drooling on that one. I love heart (deer, elk, beef, etc. its all good), and your right its packed full of vitamins. I was hunting once and came across a gut pile from a deer I knew had been shot that morning it was a snowy cold day and they had left the heart just laying in gut pile I rapped in a handkerchief and took it back to camp, I ate well that night. Great video and thanks for sharing.

You need to get old bay to sponsor you. Just point to them all the videos you have used it in as free advertising. You might tell them you are willing to do a commercial for them, "Bush cooking with Old Bay". I'd love to see it either way

Hey Dave you're killing me! I'm here with my mouth watering!!! My mom used to cook up chicken hearts and beef heart and I love it. I had my first taste of Venison last year and I'm hooked. I'm looking forward to this winter's hunting season even though I'll be a rookie! What about the Deer tongue? My Mountaineer mom used to feed us cow tongue and I loved that too. How big is a deer's tongue.

Do you have any idea when the Scout Tent is going to be available on your web site. The one that you are designing with tent smiths.... I've been holding off getting a tent until this one goes on sale... I've got to have me one... Thanks for all your great videos...

Yum yum. I love heart meat. Some of the tastiest meat. Haven't had deer heart before, but the way you cooked and prepared it, it looked totally delicious. I've always loved campfire cooking. Although my last camp out was solo and I fed on MountainHouse packets. LOL Felt a little lazy. Was mainly in the woods to shoot my firearms. Thanks for sharing it with us Dave. I will always remember watching your Dual Survivor days. You always made the show.

Only like it when it's fresh, after a couple days it don't taste so great , heart and livers with onions, yummy, can't wait for my hunt to open so I can chow down on some great meat... Thanks for the great videos, and ideas.....
@danielguadian567611 жыл бұрын
I love to eat the liver raw right after you have harvested the deer and it's still warm. It's so good! The liver is full of B vitamins, especially niacin. Niacin gives you a warm heat rush. Kind of messy though, blood dribbles down your chin.The flavor is so rich. Now that's bushcraft eating.

Are those gravy mixes and also all the stuff from "Just add water" video, and others you might have had along all the Pathfinder experience, any good? Aren't they full of preservatives and such, the ones which are not good, the synthetic stuff? At least here in my country I try to avoid all those dry noodle soups, gravy mixes and such as much as possible.

If you weren't able to take the rest of the heart home and toss it in the fridge or freezer, how would you preserve it so you could eat it later? Or would you just leave it in the water and heat it back up for dinner that night?
