I may not be religious, but I have a lot of respect for this man and his family. More often than not people buy their meat from industrial factories who treat their animals poorly and they live a life in true hell. I limit my meat intake because of this, but if I lived in an area where we had the accessibility to meat that this family does, I'd for sure learn how to butcher and catch my own food. I think forever I will dislike and have no respect for trophy hunters, but when you're hunting for food, and not catching excess, I completely understand.

I think to eat meat respectfully, you should have that blood on your hands after ethically and respectfully harvesting a free ranging animal. Without that experience, a deer harvested in the woods is no different than a steak wrapped in plastic purchased at the supermarket. Vegan, hunter or somewhere in between, we need to all recognize where our food comes from and have a great respect for the process of what goes on our dinner plates.

Robert, have you ever tried marinating your venison steak(cut or cubed) in a mixture of zesty Italian salad dressing and a packet of onion soup mix? Pour the salad dressing in a zip lock and add the onion soup in, shake well, add your venison and let it sit in the fridge for several hours.(even overnight). You can flour and fry or cook on the grill. Many times we make a gravy and put the meat back in that gravy and let it simmer. Great taste!!! Rusty Davis

Isaac AJ Yea. Hunting is good as long as you use what you hunt, One time we saw a deer carcass thrown in a ditch with ALL its meat, but they took the head. It was still bleeding from a hole in its side

Ingredients 2 lb dear meat (chevon), cubed 1 tablespoon garlic, minced 1 piece medium-sized onion, minced 3 pieces medium sized tomatoes, diced ½ teaspoon crushed chili or fresh Thai chili (optional) 1 cup tomato sauce ¾ cup bell pepper, sliced 6 tablespoon liver spread ¾ cup Spanish green olives (optional) ½ cup vinegar 1 piece large carrot, cubed 1 piece medium-sized potato, cubed 3 tablespoons cooking oil 2 cups water Salt and pepper to taste Instructions Combine the vinegar, salt, and ground black pepper in a large bowl then marinate the dear meat for at least an hour (This should neutralize the strong gamey smell ) then separate the meat from the marinade. Pour the cooking oil in a cooking pot or casserole and apply heat. Sauté the garlic, onion, and tomatoes Add the marinated dear meat then cook until the color of the outer part turns light brown Put-in the tomato sauce and crushed chili then allow to cook for 2 minutes Add the water and allow to boil. Simmer for at least 45 minutes or until the meat is tender. Add the liver spread and cook for 5 minutes (You may add water if the sauce seems to dry up) Put-in the potatoes and carrots then simmer for 8 minutes. Add the olives and bell pepper then simmer for another 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot. Share and enjoy!

My grandma and I kind of do something similar. Only when we cook it, we dip the meat in flour, then egg, then the seasoning, which is usually a mixture of spices and breadcrumbs. It's delicious. :)

When I was growing up we used to butcher a huge tame hog every winter. We would wait until we got a cold dry norther, then my dad would butcher. We would scrape the hog. Daddy would make bacon and sausage. We would cut up some pieces and mom would fry them by dreadging them in flour and frying them in a little oil. Get a piece of bread and that’s all you needed. I miss them days.

Something else many haven't tried is mayo with a dash of steak sauce (I use A-1) stirred in. Mix it in a bowl and taste it as you go. It takes less steak sauce than you think. The sauce is killer on meatballs, too.
@silvereagle900008 жыл бұрын
Another great one is Ken's honey mustard sauce, mixed with a very small amount of liquid smoke. It's a homemade chik fila sauce basically. Awesome on fries and chicken
