Our oven decided it did not want to cook a turkey this year so we had to scramble to find one. Got it set up the day before hosting 8 people! I haven’t done the sleeve thing with the mixer yet but made a mess earlier mixing dough for pizza when I dropped the measuring cup in the mixer while it was going. Thank you for not hiding the struggles! I think that’s what makes people love watching you because we struggle too!

I was never good at pie crust(70 yrs young) when I started making your crust. I didn’t have any lard at the time; so subbed butter and crisco with good results. I now use lard. Hi Jennifer and sweet family! So many wonderful memories and even with the hiccups it is still good memories. Merry Christmas sweet Joe and family. I really enjoyed the grilled cheese sharing with Warren. My double oven is 24 years old and I probably need another oven. I’m just using it till it quits. I have spatchcocked a chicken, but never a turkey. That was exasperating and with it being such a big bird made it harder. Maybe do two smaller turkeys next time. Congratulations Warren and Sparky on your deers! Your turkey looked delicious, the whole meal I’m sure was amazing. Twenty six people is a lot of people to feed. I’m glad everyone had a very blessed Thanksgiving. Your granddaughter was adorable rooting you on. She is so precious. Have a very blessed week everyone!

Jennifer, you and Peter spatchcocking the turkey was too funny. I'm sure they had small turkeys in the videos you watched. My family loves the sweet potato casserole. ❤❤❤ As a young bride, I talked my mom in law into cooking Christmas dinner at home, and that I'd help. We got the ham ready and put in oven. About an hour later we heard a big bang. After investigating everything seemed ok... but an hour later, we couldn't smell the ham. The noise had been the oven dying and I ended up cutting it into smaller chunks and cooking it on my in-law's charcoal grill in norther Wisconsin. Luckily everything else was already made or in crock pots. 😊

You and Peter spatchcocking was like an "I Love Lucy" episode! Maybe if you want to try this again (fat chance, huh?) get a fresh turkey at the store and have the butcher do the deed. Bless you for trying, though. Everything looks easier on videos. When our kids were babies (40+ years ago) I used to watch PBS shows while they were nursing, and I honestly thought I could make a stained glass window in thirty minutes. Editing is a wonderful thing for anyone making videos; but you know that!

Hi Jennifer! I felt so bad for you at the beginning of your video- when everything just seemed to go wrong. Boy, do I know all too well how those days feel! But unlike me, you’re such a trooper. I would have had to stop my filming, say a bunch of choice hmm; hmm; curse words, then resume as if I were fine. I also notice that you sound a little nasal - perhaps from sitting out on Warren’s “lady” potty - but that’s just the mom in me being worried about you. I hope you had a wonderful holiday with the family. I wish I had one of those pies❤ sooo good!

Thank goodness my son in law knows a guy who will give us a better furnace and A/C with humidifier installed with a ten year warranty tor 7800.00.. So my daughter is waiting for them to set up a time to install its warm today Monday and Tuesday but Wednesday its voting to dip a lot. okay do I feel for you I truly do. Should I freeze them until I'm ready to use them on the 25th or will they be ok in the fridge till then? Tks for all you do pretty lady😊 ❤ Tbay. Ps : Peter had a good point. 2 probems with your spatchcocking method: one, too big a turkey...16 lb is probly the limit for neatly spatchcocking; two, you have it up on a counter where you cant get proper leverage...doing it in a sink would give you the proper leverage
