Stand turned out great! Those power poles brought back memories. We used the same idea thirty plus years ago when the County came through and replaced the power lines and poles. They were more than happy to let us have all the poles we wanted. They even hauled them to our place free of charge. I think we built six deer huts that summer. The only thing different with ours, we made them mobile. We used our tractor’s front end loader with hay forks to move them with relative ease.

They are such a good thing to use!! We are fortunate to be able to get our hands on them to build all our box blinds! Big money savings!!!

Nathan - I like a little more of a lip at the windows so a sand bag can be placed on the window self/edge. Really makes settling in for a rifle or muzzleloader shot a lot easier. Looks like a job well done! $250 is cheap for an elevated blind!
@swostillwateroutdoors2 жыл бұрын
That’s a great tip there!!! Would definitely make a great addition!! I wonder if the window being a touch lower for a bowl shot it might be a little tricky to rest it on the window, but maybe there’s a way to build some sort of rig that a person could rest are going on?? I haven’t thought too much about that, But it would be a great addition!!

@@swostillwateroutdoors my kids are in their 20's and in college. So now I just do it for myself. My biggest issue on metal sided blinds, is if I should use expandable foam in the ribs to keep bugs, and mice out. I'm always afraid of condensation getting under the metal. If I close off the ribs, the air can't dry it out. Iv ask several people their opinions, and no one can agree. So, I guess I will wing it and take my chances.

Box blind hunting is not my preferred style, but ai will say it is really nice to have that option! There is hardly a better way to hunt your property with minimal intrusion than from a blind.
