Mommy of a perfect 14-yr old trans boy (how can any parent not love their trans child!), I so love your dedication to incorporating ALL kinds and sorts and colours of gender and love into the cross stitch realm. (Many floss tubes ago you made me aware of the real significance of the term queer - you're a true educator!). I love your sense of humour (and now I know where it originated) and entertainment value. (A very important asset to any one teaching in the public domain). You're 'Just Dee's' to me before anything else. And I would not want to miss you (in your cosy creative corner of your home) in my subscriptions timeline. Dear Dee... Strawberry Thief!!! 😍😍😍 It's just too good. Big hugs to your four-legged strawberry thief, he's the cutest. Save up and treat yourself to some Progressive lenses! They've been life changing. I stopped stitching 1 over 1 on 28 and 32 count all through my 30s because I couldn't see it all of a sudden! Then I got Progressives when I turned 40 (three lenses in one) and I can do all the tiny stitching now!!! Oh thr next unicorn, I can't wait. That trading post- I'm going to read up more on that. I bet there's more to their story. Debbie from Mamabear Stitchery is doing a turtle cross stitch related to Discworld, she just talked about it in her last video. That poem is very moving. Gentle and moving. Ok I'm going to run out and look for that issue of World of Cross Stitching. They've been making some intentional efforts to be more inclusive of all kinds of voices. Discworld is the best. I reread it every few years and get squidgy feelings of joy all over again. I’m also a Wallace & Gromit nerd. There’s a photo of me posed with them at Wensleydale Creamery which still makes me laugh at my ridiculousness. Whatever. All the amazing finishes and progress 🎉 That Morris bird is gorgeous ❤ You need to get it framed for your bird wall. I had to get bifocals in my late 30s. My eyes obviously had enough of regular glasses 😅 Never apologize for messiness or emotions. Here in the States I've even seen ads on KZbin warning parents about kids saying they are trans because it's 'cool'. Boggles my mind. I wish everyone would just let others live their lives. Good luck with your surgery. And good luck with teaching in the public school system.

OMG my eyesight drastically and suddenly changed when I hit perimenopause, which unfortunately co-incided with me RESTARTING stitching. I don't know if it was just a change in hormones, but i am now both nearsighted AND unable to see things too close up. and I love higher counts!!!
