man this was my fav game when it first came out when hip pop was super great to listen to and when they got music artist to be apart of this game doing their voices for their characters was super cool and to this day we never had another game like this and that's to bad because this game was so much fun and loved the story career mode they did lol

Ah man this game takes me back lol. Me and my brother would play the crap out of this game. Hell it was one of the few games we've rented it multiple times lol. My mains were Method Man and DMX, his were Redman and Ludacris. This and Fight For New York I feel need to be Remastered at some point. They're just fun and over the top.

Vendetta came out 1st. FFNY was the sequel. You'll also see alot of moves repeated, and some caaters that didn't make it into the sequel. Vendetta alo had more of a wrestling combat system, you can either KO them or even pin them to get the win.

I have this feeling that Ruffneck has been a huge reference towards American History X. He even look like Edward Nortan's character too. Even his finishing moves is a direct reference to how he curb stomp a guy's mouth on the side walk.

The development of this game is interesting. Originally the game was gonna be a sequel to WCW Mayhem. But when WWF/WWE bought WCW the game was scrapped by WWF/WWE. It then turned into an original wrestling game called Midnight Wrestling but nothing came from it. But then an idea was thrown that the game can be set in urban culture and someone on the development team said they knew some people at Def Jam Records. And the game only had about 8 months to be put on store shelves. And so Def Jam Vendetta was born.

8:20 Fun Fact: DMX said in an interview that the reason he wasn't in Def Jam FFNY is because they wanted to give him a $25,000 advanced loan and only give him 2 cents off of every game they sell. He figured by them selling the game for $50 across the nation, ain't no way that 2 cents of percentages of the games they sell, should be his amount (and he was right considering where he was in his career at the time). So they replaced him with Sticky Fingaz as well who was another Def Jam artist from Onyx. No disrespect to Sticky but that definitely should have been DMX part and his character in the story mode was the most challenging. I miss DMX man, rest in peace to the D.O.G (Da Original Goat)🌹🌹🌹💐✝️🙌🏾
