The end of this with Regan's voice over "They counted on America to be passive - they counted wrong" still sends shivers down my spine. Brilliantly executed here, and a genius song!

The '80s were a rough time. Just countries addicted to military spending. Along with the Union busting and deregulation and complete rejection of trying to help the AIDS crisis. It was an ugly administration, and a scary time because of the Cold war.

Vivian's all business. Different from Steve in almost every way, but he fit in the band just as perfectly.

Sir, THE single most crucial difference between Vivian & Steve, was this : Vivian is totally together------easy to get along with-----sober------in top shape, & yes, all business on stage. ------He has never, ever tried to be Steve-------thankfully. ------------------------------WolfSky9

Elias Martinez Jr.- “all business”... in regards to what? Making money? “fit in the band just as perfectly”... ridiculous statement, Steve was the foundation of the band’s hard rock identity, and didn’t give a fuck about the money.The best Def Leppard ended when Steve left, everyone knows it, especially the band, in hindsight, and probably very quickly.Vivian is a mere replacement, nothing notable about him, does what he’s told to do (including doing backup vocals), whereas Steve was true rock-n-roll spirit, doing only what he wanted to do, and nothing he didn’t, and cringing at the syrupy pop songs that the rest of the band agreed to.

Amazing performance from my nr.1 band! If I had a Delorean time machine, I would hit those 88 miles per hour and go back in time to watch this show or the one in Denver Colorado in 1988 ...

That's awesome is there any chance in 1992 you saw the extended version of rock of ages before it was dropped? If so what show or shows?
@charliehustle15402 жыл бұрын
@@ChristianContemporaryMusic02 actually I saw them do it the first time I saw them do it the first time on the Adrenalize Tour in 1992, the second time I saw them , they played pretty much the standard live version in 1993. They did change the setlist around alot from different legs of the 1992- 1993 tour. I like when they mix it up. I saw them in Hartford CT in 1992 and in Groton CT in 1993 at the Groton Navy Sub base. Both shows were different but awesome! They played in the round in 1992 & a regular stage outside on a regular stage in 1993. The band was on fire both times! Phil & Vivian were unreal!

I was listening to this song yesterday and remembering back to when I saw this tour in Hartford ‘92. I vividly remembered those big light pods descending at the end of this song. So I looked it up and bam, here it is! Thank you for the upload! Brings back great memories of my first rock concert and favorite concert to date. It was probably the concert either before or after this one since this was in Binghamton, NY.

I was at that Hartford CT show too and that was in the round! I saw them later in the tour again in 1993 down at the Navy Sub Base om Groton CT. It was a standard stage and outside and different setlist. Both shows were awesome!

@@epicvsfvror It's hard to say your best bet might be to watch that classic albums documentary on hysteria. All the songs are such a hodgepodge of different parts that it's hard to know who wrote what. But we do know Steve wrote the intro and the solo.
