When I saw Def Leppard live in 1988, as amazing as the show was, I couldn't help keep my eyes off of Rick Allen. Just a few short years after his accident, it was absolutely incredible to me how well he played and found it an immense source of inspiration - as I'm sure millions across the globe have. Man, what a musician and proof of what the human spirit is capable of.

Rick Allen is a fine example of how someone can turn a negative into a positive, and he did that by changing the way he drummed after his accident.

I saw them in 1980 and he blew me away I was playing drums at the time and he inspired me to keep going when others told me I wasn't 'metal' enough. He reminded me of Phil Rudd of ACDC but he had the rolls and fills and it is amazing he continued to play after his accident! lesson! don't give up!

He creates an Hypnotic sound that engulfs the listener into a dream state The Cars song in 1984 Heartbeat City is a classic example.

Came here for the thoughts on relearning to play the drums. But what blew my mind was Rick talking about the missing weight of his arm creating a lack of balance (no more weight symmetry). I have never, ever, ever thought of that. Makes so much sense, but until Rick said it, I never once thought about it. Just crazy trying to imagine it now. Just how much does one of my arms weigh? Is it like carrying a heavy bag in one hand so you have to shift your weight a bit to counterbalance? Mind blown.

unless I'm mistaken I think it's the only known video taped interview of Mutt Lange. I tried to do some research on the internet and found nothing xcept this one
@brax26 Жыл бұрын
How did you get that part of the interview? Rick Allen said he saw that video you've posted here and he had never seen it in his entire life. So who has the copy to the full interview because I've seen other excerpts from Mutt Lang sitting in that same spot talking about Def Leppard but I've never seen the excerpts all spliced together

At this point in time I'm pretty shure Mutt knows about the demand for an interview with him. What do you guys think? Should we start an online petition?

I'm sure in Hysteria:The Def Leppard Story, Mutt has a US accent. Having read about his life, that didn't really make sense. His accent here sounds a little more British than South African.
